I opened my locker and bent down to reorganize my binders in order of class period for tomorrow. I had a meeting in ten minutes but the classroom was right next to me so I had some time to kill.

The school had just recently come into more funding so we had money for all kinds of things. New computers in the library, new laptops for the labs, a brand new football stadium and money for after school clubs.

Glee club, AV club, Yearbook got new equipment, the funding even sparked a petition for a Gay-Straight Alliance. And being student body president I had to oversee the very first meeting. I walked into the multimedia room and set the tables to form a makeshift circle and pulled two packs of Lofthouse cookies from my book bag for people to take, then grabbed a liter of Sierra Mist from my duffle and ripped open a sleeve of plastic cups I bought to accompany it.

"Oh, you're here early." I heard a voice behind me.

I turned around to find Mr. Haywood setting up his laptop at one of the tables. He taught Theater I & II and Advanced Acting and Directing. He was popular with students so naturally he would be the teacher to oversee student engagements.
