"You get as far away from here as you can, you hear me?" Poe put both hands on Camri's shoulders to make sure she heard him.
"But-" she started shaking her head. She grabbed his arm as if telling him to stay.
"I'll come back for you!" he yelled over the explosions, "It'll be alright!"
He snatched up his gun and brushed a kiss on her forehead. Then like a lighting bolt he sped into the fight.
"Poe!" Camri took a few steps towards him but then stopped. Bitting her lip, she watched him disappear into the chaos. Her heart started pounding like a drum in a cage. Storm troopers flooded out of imperial ships and started shooting everyone in their path. The clanging of armor, the power of the blasts, the cries of death, filled the air and clashed in a retched song. Suddenly a defending explosion erupted from the left, sending her stumbling back. She twisted around and lunged herself into a sprint. Faster and faster her feet tumbled over each other, each step outrunning the last. Guns shrieked from all directions. The song grew louder and more unbearable. Cries of anguish haunted her mind.
Poe's X-wing fighter loomed in the darkness, flashing in and out of view from the explosions. Safe. She was almost safe. Suddenly a horrifying cry pierced through all the chaos. Her whole world seemed to freeze. She whirled around and stopped dead in her tracks. Far in the distance, Poe was clutching his side. Her heart stopped. He cried out again and fell to his knees. As he hit the ground she felt her heart crack.
"POE!!" she screamed as her eyes started to sting with tears. Scrambling forward, she flung herself back into the chaos. The world flew by her in a blur. But she felt like a hand was holding her back, she couldn't reach him fast enough. Her heart thundered in unison to the battle, her muscles burned. Storm troopers grabbed Poe and jerked him up. He swung his body back. Without missing a beat, Camri scooped up a gun from the ground, swung it up, and pulled the trigger. The force jerked her back. A storm trooper holding Poe fell dead. Poe lifted his head, his face flooded with fear and pain.
"Camri! NO!"
He struggled to free himself. He curled to the side in pain.
"RUN!!"
Camri turned to run but a steel hand yanked her back. She screamed and swung her gun into armor. The man thrust her gun away and struck her like a knife across her face. She fell to the ground. Pain ran like fire through her face and for a moment she forgot everything else.
"CAMRI!"
She heard a rustle of armor against skin, and cries and grunts of a struggle. She slowly raised her head.
"CAMRI NO!"
The same metal grip jerked her up. She cried out as his fingers drove into her skin. Twisting her head back, she saw the storm trooper holding her was not white like the others, but clad in a menacing silver. As cold as a moonless night, as foreboding as a deadly midnight river.
"Let her go!!" Poe cried, he struggled again but curled to his side. A trooper struck the back of his knees and he fell. Camri jerked her shoulder and spun her body around.
"No!" she cried, "Stop hurting him!"
Suddenly cold metal tickled the side of her face and froze her. She felt the vibration of a gun charging up.
"One more move and she's dead." the trooper purred. Their voice seemed strange. Poe froze and he seemed to have crumbled inside. His chest heaved up and down and a dark blood spot started leaking through this jacket from his wound.
An ominous presence absorbed their attention to the sky. A single imperial ship sank down from the black abyss that stretched above them. The chaos stilled to an order subdued by fear. Through the flames and tears all was deadly silent. The ship descended slowly. Dust whirled around at its land. The ground rumbled. The earth held its breath.
The ship's door bowed to a walkway for one man. One man masked in darkness. One man cloaked in black. One man consumed by power. He glided down the ramp and marched slowly towards Camri and Poe. Storm troopers fell in line behind him and formed an overwhelming wave. The man stood in front of Poe in an air of a victor. A long pause of silent laughter daunted the air. Suddenly he stiffened. Tilting his head he turned around to face Camri. One step at a time, he strode to her. Camri felt like she was exposed and wanted to hide, but there was no escape. She tried to move but the metal hand held her firm. The dark figure towered head and shoulders over her. His dark cloak brushed against her arm. A chill stung her. Clenching her jaw she planted herself and tilted her chin up. The figure took a robotic breath.
The man suddenly seemed to be inside her thoughts and the air escaped her lungs.
"You've been with my moth-" his icy voice stopped short.
He curved towards her. Camri gasped for air as he searched her thoughts. General Leia's soft face appeared in her mind. Camri wanted to reach out and run into her warm embrace but the motherly eyes faded as her thoughts jumbled into confusion.
"she's told you things..." his metallic whisper grasped at her heart.
Suddenly his presence left her mind and she cried out and sagged forward. Hanging her head, she struggled to regain her breath.
The man turned away and motioned with his hand.
"I have what I need."
Two sets of cold hands clutched around Camri's arms and jerked her away from Poe. 
"CAMRI!!" Poe's cry ripped through his heart.
"POE!!" Camri dug her heels into the ground and spun towards him. Her feet scraped through the dirt as the storm troopers dragged her away from her brother.
"CAMRI!! CAMRI NOOO!!!" Poe screamed as he lunged after her. He fell to his knees at the feet of the storm troopers who held him firmly. Coughing and gasping, he struggled in her direction.
"No don't take her!!!" he cried.
Camri struggled to catch a last glimpse of the last of her family as she was led up the ramp. Tears were streaming down his dirt stained face. The blood stain had grown.
As the walls of the ship darkened around her she heard him cry one last time.
"I'll find you Camri!! I WILL find you!!"
