Back at the flat with Lestrade, Sherlock was pacing with all sorts of papers and news articles as well as internet articles pinned to the wall as he tried to think. Lestrade stared at the wall with a mixture of astonishment and slight terror.
Sherlock stopped mid pace and turned to Lestrade and said, " Leave Lestrade. I need to be alone for a bit." Lestrade started to protest but held his tongue and nodded. As he walked out he said over his shoulder to Sherlock, " call me if anything comes up." And with that he was gone. Sherlock hopped up onto the couch and was looking at a small article about a man who claimed to have seen the same statues a few years back. He sprang over to John's laptop and googled the mans name, "Finlay Robertson" and it came back with the news article and his blog about the man in the back of the movie extras. Sherlock quickly sent him and email as to get an answer about that mysterious man and within the hour Finlay replied with a simple minded response " he called himself 'The Doctor'." Sherlock looked up at the wall and said to himself, " no.. It can't be him. Or could it?" He ran to his room and tore it apart looking for an old shoe box that contained a small crinkled paper with a number on it. He smiled very smally and then ran back to the sitting room. He pulled his phone from his blazer and punched in the number and within seconds a man answered it, " Hello this is the Doctor. Who is this and how do you have this number?" Sherlock exhaled and said in his normal manner, " hello Doctor, it's me, Sherlock."Inside his TARDIS The Doctor was leaned leaned against his console in his usual tweed jacket and bow tie. The phone was in his left hand and his right on the edge of the console. "Sherlock? The Sherlock Holmes? How did you get this number?"
Sherlock on the line responded quick but also with a small hint of panic in his voice, " I need your help Doctor, these stone statues that some refer to as weeping angels, they've taken John Watson. You've got to help me Doctor, he's my best friend." The Doctor dipped his head, " Alright Sherlock but how did you know to call me?" He was now typing some coordinates in his typewriter while Sherlock responded, " A man named Finlay wrote an article about the Angels and well he mentioned you. I had luckily kept your number from all those years ago." The Doctor was now smiling a bit, " so in other words you're putting away your old feelings in the hope of me helping you? Fine. I'll be there in a second." And with that The Doctor hung up the phone and was running around the console flying her to 221b Baker St. He landed her right outside in the street and poked his head out before going up to Sherlock's flat and knocking on the door and almost instantaneously Sherlock opened it. The Doctor walked in and the wall of notes, pictures, and post clippings, caught his attention while Sherlock couldn't take his eyes off him. " you've changed Doctor." The Doctor turned and smiled, " well actually yeah just once since the last time we met." He then walked over and sat in johns chair as Sherlock took his own seat across from him. Sherlock explained the events of earlier and when he concluded he realised the emotions that were arising inside him.
The Doctor stood and looked to Sherlock, " well then we've got no time to loose, let's go then. " and with that they ran downstairs and out to the TARDIS. Once the Doctor got her up into an orbit he started a scan of the planet for anything odd. And within seconds there was a beep but not quite the one they hoped for. There was a beach on fire in Pacific City, Oregon and the fire was in the shape of a word, or rather a name, "DOCTOR".
