#132 Family reunion with your newborn

Your POV

Today was Niall's family reunion, he has one every year. It always happens at Mauras house.

Niall and I both have a one week old daughter , name Aaliyah. None of Niall's family have met her yet considering I only got out of hospital two days ago, but today they were finally going to meet her.

"Can we walk to my mums? I want to use the pram" Niall begged. I looked at him weirdly. "Why do you want to use the pram so much?" I chuckled. He shrugged. "I just do" he said. "It's not that far so I guess we can walk, be active for once" I said and he agreed.

He went over to the corner to retrieve the pale pink coloured silver cross pram that hadn't been used yet. Inside of the pram was blankets for the baby, one of them was pink with the words 'daddy's little princess' written across and another was grey with Aaliyah's name written on it.

I heard crying so I rushed to the Moses basket and picked up my crying infant, holding her in my arms. "Sshh baby, mummy's got you" I soothed as she slowly calmed down and looked up at me with her gorgeous blue eyes.
Niall held his hands out for her . I passed her to him gently. I watched as he brought her to his  chest, holding her close and looking down at her with pride and joy.

He gently placed her down in the pram and strapped her in. He placed the blankets over her and smiled down at her. She made a baby noise in return.

We knocked on the door of Niall's childhood home. Aaliyah was wide awake in her pram.
His mum answered the door bringing us both into hugs. "Everyone's in the garden" she said leading us through the house and into the back garden.

Niall and I sat down next to each other , we were ops site Maura and Greg. Denise was playing with Theo and some of Niall's cousins and Bobby was doing the BBQ with help from Niall's uncle.

The pram was next to Niall's seat. Everyone came over to the table to see the baby.
"C'mon, let us see your baby" Maura said and we laughed. Niall carefully removed the blankets from the pram. He then unclipped all of the straps keeping Aaliyah safe and picked her up holding her to his chest.

"Everyone meet Aaliyah Grace Horan" Niall said proudly.
"She's beautiful" Maura commented looking down at the baby on her sons arms.
"Good luck keeping me the boys away when she's older" Bobby teased sensing that Niall was overprotective of her.
Niall playfully glared at his dad.
"She's such a gorgeous baby" Denise said.
"She looks so much like Niall" Greg said and I agreed.
"Finally there's another baby in the family, a gorgeous one may I add" Niall's uncle commented.

"Mum? Dad? Do you want to hold her?" Niall asked . They both nodded. Maura was closest to Niall since she was right next to him.
Niall passed our sleeping baby to his mum.
Maura looked down at her with a smile on her face. "I'm so proud of you both. Who knew my son could make such a beautiful baby" Maura said, teasing Niall.
"Hey! What's that supposed to mean?" Niall said defensively. Maura chuckled at his reaction.
"Aww she's got cute little rosy cheeks" Maura said. I looked at Niall. "I wonder who she got those from" I chuckled and Niall just grinned.

Maura passed the baby to Bobbys awaiting arms. Aaliyah slowly woke up showing Niall's family her beautiful blue eyes. "She looks so much like you, hair , eyes, everything" Bobby told Niall. I agreed with him. She is a mini Niall. Dark brown hair, bright blue eyes, his lips and my nose.

The baby was passed to Greg, Denise , Niall's uncle and then she was passed to me.

I held her in my arms while continuing my conversation with Greg and Denise.
I saw Greg looking next to me weirdly. I glanced at the side of me and saw Niall making funny faces to the baby.
Aaliyah was wide awake in my arms and staring intently at Niall.

"Hello baby!" Niall said in a baby voice to her while making stupid faces.
"Uncle Niall! Play football with me!" Theo yelled running over to the table.
"Don't you want to meet your baby cousin first?" Niall asked. Theo looked at him confused . I showed him the baby.
"Aww! Who baby that?" He asked.
"That's uncle Niall's and auntie y/n's baby" Denise said.
"She cute!" Theo said and I smiled. Niall got up and went to play football with Theo.

Maura stood up and took Niall's seat next to me.
"How's Niall taking it? Having a baby around?" Maura asked looking down at the pink bundle of blankets in my arms.
"He's took it really well. The first few nights, if she'd wake up crying he would see to her and let me rest, he's always helping me bath her and he'll feed her and change her nappy, he's a really good dad" I told her and she smiled.
"I raised him well, can I hold her again" She said.
I smiled and gladly passed Aaliyah over to her.
"No need to ask, she's your granddaughter" I told her and she smiled.

"I love her name, how did you come up with it?" She asked. "We were looking online at baby names that aren't very common. Niall said that he loved the name Aaliyah. I instantly fell in love with the name. I love the fact that it isn't unusual but it's not common. With middle names we found other names we liked, wrote a list of the ones we both liked and found one that went well with Aaliyah and Horan" I explained.
"It really is a beautiful name" she said and I agreed.
"I'd kill to have a name like that" I said and she chuckled.

"I always wanted to have a daughter but I got my two boys which I'm happy with so having a granddaughter is amazing! Whenever you all come over I'll do her hair and things like that" she said and I smiled.

Niall came and sat down on the other side of me.
"So, when's the next grandchild from you two coming?" Maura asked smirking.
Niall leaned forwards so he could see his mum.

"Mum! We've only just had Aaliyah!" He said.
"So, its September! if you got pregnant soon, they could be in the same class in school!" She chuckled.
"Mum we aren't having anymore babies until she's a few years old" Niall said.

"Is she sleeping?" Niall asked Maura. Maura looked down at the infant. "No, she's still wide awake" Maura said just as the baby began to wail.
Niall took her from his mothers arms and brought his daughter close to his chest.
She instantly calmed down . Niall rocked her to sleep.
Once he knew she was sleeping peacefully he placed her in her pram.

"Bye Maura, see you soon" I said hugging her. "Bye love" she said.
"Bye Bobby, we will visit again soon" I said hugging him. "Bye y/n, good luck with the baby, see you soon" he said.

"Bye mum, bye dad, we will visits again soon" Niall said hugging his parents.
"Be sure to take plenty of photos and videos of the baby and send them to us!" Maura said and we agreed.

We left the house, Niall pushing the pram and me walking alongside him.
