A Cinderella story: The British Prince

Part 1: Leaving Home

"Omg Kara, I can't believe UVA picked us to go to Great Britain to study abroad. This is a big deal." Said Destinee. " Hell yea it's a big deal." I said with a frown on my face. "Oh baby cakes what's wrong?" I looked at Destinee and shook my head. "Don't worry about it." Destinee looked at me and I knew by the look of her face that she wants me to tell the truth. I sighed. "Ok fine. I'm nervous about leaving Virginia. I was born here, I was raised her and I been through a lot here. Destinee you know how I am. You know that I'm anti-social and it's hard for me to talk to new people." Destinee walked next to me and put her arm around me. "My dearest friend. That's what the world is all about. You have to get out of that shell and explore. Even better, Kara, you won't be by yourself because you have me." I started tearing up. "You promise me you will never leave my side?" She smiled. " I promise."

After the talk, Destinee and I started packing our stuff for Great Britain. It took us nearly 3 hours to pack but we finally finished. Our dorm room was halfway empty and smelled of fresh strawberry. "You ready to get out of this dump?" Destinee asked me and we both giggled. "Yes,I'm ready."

We head outside and our dorm manager, Ms. Stevenson, wished us luck on our trip. We even ran into our college friends, Joanna who is a freshman with brown hair and green eyes; and Will, who is also a freshman but has blonde hair and blue eyes. "We are really gonna miss our favorite seniors." Will said giving each of us a hug. "Yea Kara you been a big sister to me." Said Joanna and she starts to tear up. "Awe Joanna I'm really gonna miss you dear and you too Will. Take good care of her." I gave Joanna a hug and will wrapped his arm around her and said, " I will. You guys have fun and don't party too much." We all laugh and Destinee and I headed to her car. Destinee drives a blue Jeep with a hood. I was quite happy she has a hood on her jeep because the forecast said it will rain in 1 hour from now. "Aye Kara, do you wanna stop at McDonald's to get some breakfast?" I nodded with my stomach growling and we were on our way to McDonald's. After stopping at McDonald's, we were on our way to the airport.

It is approximately 8:15 am and our plane leaves at 8:30 am. We sat in the waiting room until the flight attendant lady told us we can get on the plane. "Wow it's my first time on an airplane." Said Destinee jumping up and down like a little kid. "Destinee calm down. You don't have to jump up and down like a five year old. Have a little chill in you." I said annoyed. "Ok, ok. I'm chill." Said Destinee. I simply shake my head. Minutes passed and we were flying. Destinee fell asleep and I looked out of the window and start humming my favorite song, Middle of the Night by The Vamps, ( which is a really good song) and I fell asleep.
