Chapter 1

*Nicoli's P.O.V*

My father, Kendall Hallows, was a good man, but he held a secret. Kendall Hallows was a vampire. My mother, Nila Hallows, was a human. However, this is no twilight love story. This is the story about how I became and lived as, One of Them.

My father had a friend who was a warlock. He begged this friend to help him when My mother became pregnant. This warlock friend died before I was born and thus my mother died in childbirth.

The Hallows Children consisted of Kiván, Nora,Myself and my adopted little brother, Kail. Kiván moved out of the house, to live at my grandpa's plantation, when he was eighteen and he took Nora with him. Nora came and visited on my seventeenth birthday when she was eighteen. She told me that when I was eighteen I would have some changes in my life, and that during that time I could move in with her and Kiván at the plantation. Then she left as quickly as she came. Dad was murdered three months later.

Today is my eighteenth birthday and my mouth has been hurting all morning. It was stranger or my mouth and teeth to be hurting only because I have never had a problem with my teeth. To forget about the pain I went for a walk by the river at the back of the house where my dad was murdered nine months ago.

I missed my dad. He was always there for Kail and I. And being without him in our lives has been difficult for the both of us but we managed.

I was brought out of my thoughts by a horrible and painful sound of my gums ripping in my mouth. If you saw me you would be able to see the agony in my eyes from the pounding of the headache. I ended up passing out cold from the stopping of my heart.

*Nora's P.O.V*

I was walking from the plantation with Kiván and his girlfriend, Mirsa, to go get Nicoli and Kail. When we were crossing the river to get to the backyard of the house I saw a mess of red hair on a girl who looked almost dead. That's when I noticed that the girls messy red hair looked exactly like Nicoli's, and that was definately her favorite brown jacket. "Oh My God, Nicky!" I shouted as I ran across the river to be at her side.
