'At the curtain's call, It's the last of all

When the lights fade out, All the sinners crawl'

Genna's p.o.v

The next day i decided to pick myself up and head over to the library with the hope of seeing Luke. I couldn't believe it when he showed me his arm yesterday and what he said to me. I hurried over there after school and took my usual seat at the back, patiently watching the clock tick time away.

In some ways i felt relieved. Like i've reached the curtain call. There was no need for me to hide behind who i was and what i did anymore. No need for me to fake a smile and act like i'm not falling apart. Well...at least not to Luke.

After waiting for about twenty minutes or so, i saw him heading towards me. When he noticed me a small smile tugged on the edge of his lips as it did mine.

He took a seat beside me and shivered, his teeth chattering a little.

"It's cold outside." He chuckled.

"Luke.." I said and before he could say anything further i attached my lips on his, pulling him closer to me by his shirt collar. I felt his hands move to the small of my back where they stayed.

I pulled away to gather some air into my lungs as well as releasing my grip on his collar, feeling the heat on my cheeks.

"Sorry." I whispered.

"It's fine." He smiled. I bit my lip shyly and placed my hand in his, enjoying the warmth that was radiating from it.

"Thank y-"

"LUKE! Oh my gosh fancy meeting you here." We both turned our heads to see a girl practically running towards us...well him. I recognised her as the girl that i saw him with a while ago, when i first met him. Both of them arguing about something across the table.

"Diana. Hey." He sighed, a look of annoyance on his face.

"I didn't know you actually liked this place Luke." She said once she was beside him, smacking the top of his shoulder flirtatiously ignoring me.

"Yeah, i do." He replied, looking up at the blonde from where he was sat. She looked down our

locked hands and almost immediately Luke pulled his hand away from mine, not bothering to even glance my way.

"Are you guys like..on a date?" She laughed, pointing between the two of us.

Luke looked at me and swallowed hard, clearly unsure of what to say.

"Well are you?" She pushed, placing her hands on her hips.

"Uh....i..-"

"No. We're not." I cut him off, feeling the water rising in my eyes.

"Good, coz i mean...that would've been really weird." She laughed, raising her eyebrows at Luke who looked up at her then back at me.

"Yeah. It would've." I said, my voice cracking. I grabbed my bag and stood up, pushing past the obnoxious blonde and heading for the exit, not bothering to look back.

I was wrong. I was so wrong, about him about everything. My life is just one big show, a joke. Here's me thinking that he actually cared about me.

I let down my guard for him and now all i know is when the lights fade out on this stupid show that my life is all the sinners are revealed. They're all the same. Everybody. Including Luke.

And i was wrong to think there was any good in him.
