Today is the first day of high school, I am SO excited. I get to meet a lot of people today, yay! I got up and tamed my hair, then I went downstairs and dad made breakfast, mom used to before she passed away. It was a tradition, but now dad does it instead. That's okay though because he makes really good pancakes too. After that I went back upstairs, but on a pair of black leggings, a burgundy t-shirt, burgundy knee socks and a matching burgundy scarf. I then went into the washroom and brushed my teeth and started curling my hair, then I was interrupted by banging on the bathroom door. I open the door, smile really wide. "Hi Finley" I say to my brother. He's a year older than me, but sometimes we forget there's an age difference. "Don't call me that Liz" He goes by Fin now, but since I used 'Finley' he used 'Liz', I guess it was deserved though. "What do you want Fin?" I asked. "let me in, I need to brush my teeth" he replies. I then open the door farther and let him in and continue curling my hair. Now onto makeup, I pull out my makeup bag and I put in my concealer, now for eyeshadow. I start digging for my favourite palette and when I finally find it I realize Fin has been staring at me. "What is it Fin?" I asked, normally he just ignores me in the morning. "Please don't put on makeup, you're beautiful without it. Like not supermodel beautiful, but natural beautiful. To be honest guys prefer natural beautiful anyway." I didn't know what to say. I was speechless, that was.... nice. Then he walked out and continued getting ready, after a few minutes I did the same. Then we heard our dad honk from the driveway. We both yelled "SHOTGUN" at the same time, that's when we got competitive, we both run downstairs to put our shoes on and race to the front seat, but while Fin is putting his Nike's on I grab my Converse and run out to the car. "No fair!" I hear him yell out behind me. Once I get to the car, I stick my tongue out at him then hop in and out my shoes on, my dad chuckles. A few seconds later Fin gets in the car and we're off to school.
