I pulled my phone out of my pocket to check the time. 7:50.
I didn't plan on hooking up with Andy, but I needed to tell him that I wasn't interested in having sex with someone who I'd barely met. also, I couldn't just blow him off.
I decided to start making my way toward the tent, the place we decided on meeting.
I approached the tent, to find Andy already there, leaning against the corner of the tent. He turned toward me when he saw me coming.
"Hey, Alice." he said with a smile. he ran a hand through his shoulder grazing black hair. "glad you could make it."
"Hey, um, me too." I responded awkwardly.
Without much exchange of words, we started walking. where to, I wasn't sure.
"So um...where are we going?" I asked.
"I was thinking we could hang out on my bus." He turned to face me. "of course, if that's okay with you."
I nodded. I wasn't sure I exactly liked where this was going so far, but I'd have to admit that hooking up with Andy wouldn't be the worst thing to happen to me.
We reached the bus, and Andy gestured for me to go before him, and we both climbed the steps into the living area of the Black Veil Brides tour bus.
"Looks like the guys aren't here yet." Andy said, acknowledging the silence in the bus.
"It's really quiet in here." I said.
"Yeah, I can put some music on if you want."
Andy stepped over to the stereo system on the wall and pressed some buttons, and Saturday Night by the misfits started playing.
"Oh awesome!" I exclaimed. I love this song.
Andy took a drag on his cigarette before responding.
"Yeah?" Andy said. "I love the Misfits. I've been a fan for years."
After a few minutes of slightly awkward silence, Andy took a step toward me. this was my time to speak up.
I held out a hand. "look Andy, I like you, I really do, but I'm just not comfortable with doing this with someone I barely know."
I looked up at Andy, and I was surprised to see a confused look on his face. He scratched his head. "umm...huh?" he said.
"Oh." I said. "you weren't going to...?"
"Oh...No!" Andy said. "No, that was definitely not my intention." he said with a smirk. "but I'm glad to hear that you do like me, at least." he grinned.
I blushed, sort of embarrassed about what I assumed about him. I felt a little guilty, too.
"How about a drink?" Andy said. "you know, to sort of break the ice."
"Oh yeah, that'd be great!" I said eagerly. I had forgotten how much I craved alcohol, but once I remembered that I needed it, I had to have it.
Andy handed me a beer and I quickly popped off the cap and took a couple big gulps.
Andy laughed. "Eager much? Man, you must be a real Budweiser fan."
I put it down, embarrassed. "I guess you could say that," I responded.
Before he could reply, there was a pounding knock on the door of the bus.
"Shit." Andy muttered. "sounds like the guys are back."
I could hear some talking and laughing coming from outside the door as Andy stood up to open it. Andy slid the door open and three guys stumbled into the bus.
"Hey. back so soon?" Andy asked as the three entered and Andy slid the door shut behind them.
"Yeah." the taller one said with a chuckle. Assumably, this was Jake. "CC here is mad drunk, so we decided to get him back to his bunk before he hurt himself."
The other, shorter man led the drunk CC back into the bunk area.
"Where's Ashley?" Andy asked Jake.
"I dunno." he responded with a shrug.
"I haven't seen him in a while. he's probably off banging chicks somewhere, though."
Andy sighed. "Well, he should probably get back over here soon. we're leaving in a few hours."
Jake nodded. "Yeah, I'll shoot him a text."
After pulling out his phone to text Ashley, Jake seemed to notice me for the first time.
"Oh. Who's this?" he asked.
Before I could respond, Andy did.
"Oh! this is my friend Alice. she's my, um... Friend."
I smiled and waved awkwardly.
Jake nodded. "alright, well, I'm probably gonna hit the hay. G'night!" Jake called from down the hallway.
Andy waved in response.
I checked the time on my phone as Andy walked over to sit next to me on the sofa.
"Oh wow. it's already 8:30." I said. "our employee curfew is in half an hour. I should probably head back pretty soon."
Andy nodded. "at least let me walk you back home." he said, helping me up off the couch.
"Okay." I said with a smile. I was sorry to go, but I was also really tired from the long day.
We stepped outside, and started walking towards the tent from which we came. once we reached the tent, Andy stopped and turned to me.
"I really enjoyed myself tonight, Alice. I hope we can do this again sometime."
I hoped Andy couldn't see my likely red cheeks in the quickly fading daylight.
"Me too. we should do this again sometime."
Instead of replying, Andy stepped close to me until our bodies were presses against each other.
He tilted my chin up to face him with his hands, bringing me face to face with his striking blue eyes.
My heart skipped a beat when he suddenly pressed his lips against mine.
I could feel the cool metal of his lip ring against my lips, and the tenderness of his lips as they moved with mine.
I could smell the faint aroma of cigarette smoke that lingered on his clothes, and the slight smell of his cologne.
As my hands moved up his back and into his hair, I suddenly pulled away.
I looked up at Andy, speechless. he had a look of confusion and concern on his face, and his mouth was still open from the kiss.
"Um, Alice? Are you okay?" He asked.
"I um...I..." I stammered.
Taking a step toward me, Andy said, "I'm sorry Alice, I shouldn't have done that."
"No no, it um..." I mumbled. "I need to go."
Before I could look at his face, I quickly turned and dashed away, toward my bus. I couldn't hear Andy calling me, but I knew he probably was.
I ran up the bus steps and into the bunk room. I crashed onto my bed in all of my dirty clothes, but I was to worn out to think about it. I went to bed almost as soon as my head touched my pillow.
