"Axel sweetie," Axel's mother, Amara, said.

"Coming!" Axel shouted. He quickly sat down his controller and ran downstairs to the kitchen. "Yes, mommy?"

"Tomorrow, I want you to walk on the other side of the street when you head to school," she said.

Axel looked at her confused, "Why?" Amara stayed quiet for a second then began talking again.

"Well, honey, you know boys and girls are made to be together, correct?" she asked. Axel nodded. "Supposedly, the neighbor's son decided to experiment with his likings and kissed a boy. I don't want him to rub off on you. I want you to walk on the other side, okay?"

"But mommy, he was only experimenting. Why can't I continue walking on our side? Our sidewalk doesn't have a lot of bumps," Axel said.

"Axel, I mean it. It's either the other side or you're going to take the long way through the alleys," Amara said.

"Okay mommy," Axel ran towards the door then stopped, "I'm going out back!"

     "Okay honey!"

Axel quickly ran outside and started jumping on the trampoline. With each jump, he would make sure he can see over the tall white fence. He spotted the neighbor boy crying while playing with a small truck.

Axel quickly hopped off the trampoline and dragged the trash can beside the door over to the fence. He climbed on top of the trash can and peaked over the fence.

"Cry baby!" Axel yelled. The teary boy looked up at Axel surprised. He quickly wiped his eyes.

"Y-yeah?" the boy hiccupped because of crying.

"Why are you crying?" Axel asked.

"My mama yelled at me," he pouted.

     "What's your name?" Axel asked.

"Kai, Kai Lawrence," Kai said. Axel climbed over the fence. His chubby legs landing on the freshly mowed grass in the neighbor's yard. He walked over to Kai and held out his hand.

"Hello Kai, I'm Axel Moore," Axel introduced himself.

"Axel Jameson Moore!" Axel's mother yelled from the back door. Axel's face drained of color. He quickly jumped up on to the fence then made his way into his own yard.

After that small conversation, the two began secretly hanging out. This lasted for six years until finally when Axel was 16 he brought Kai over.

The two are now in high school. Axel at the age of 18 and Kai at the age of 16. After six years Axel shaped out well. He lost all his baby fat and ended up becoming the best athlete in the school. Kai although was still the same scrawny kid that he was when he was eight.

"Disgusting," a girl commented as soon as she saw the two boys holding hands. The couple got many disgusting looks, comments, and even threats. But, that didn't stop them. No matter what, they still love each other. They still cherished each other. They still made time for each other. And they still will do anything for each other.

As soon as Axel turned 16 he decided to surprise his mother. He brought Kai over and announced that the two were dating. Axel still remembers it as if it was yesterday. His mother's voice turning cold and ruthless as she shouted callous words. Her throwing every clothing item he had out the window. Being a child of a widow, note; that's also a priest, wasn't the easiest to come out to and be rational with.
