What the Heck I Gotta Do?
Tuesday

"Keep up, Jess!" Harry yelled as he walked briskly to the board outside the main office, his best friend unfortunately in tow. The smaller girl tried to keep up but Harry's paces were unfortunately twice the size of her own, rendering her legs practically useless. He stopped only to read the gigantic list of names printed alphabetically on the red paper covered cork board that read Honor Roll at the top in sparkly cheap reflective Michael's letters.

"Harry, you're always on this damn board. That's not about to change." Jessica said despite also searching for her own name, "Besides report cards come out today."

Jessica was Harry's best friend of nearly four years. She was half Asian which contributed to her small height of 5' 2", long dark brown or medium brown hair (depending on the time of year), pretty brown eyes with flecks of gold in them, and olive skin. She also had a very out going personality and was on good terms with over half the school. Jessica and Harry had become friends in the beginning of freshman year and also the beginning of her transition from male to female. They had bonded over their commitment to school work and would often have sleep overs and study rather than party. Harry even introduced her to her on and off boyfriend of two years and his cousin, Derek.

"You know how much I need good grades." The green eyes boy replied pointedly. He tore his eyes from the board once he found his name and hastily texted Gemma, his older sister and legal guardian, he had made honor roll again. Gemma responded with a flood of congratulations sent with confetti and emojis making him smile.

"H, I know trust me. You're just so smart. Anything below straight A's would be out of the ordinary. No college will be able to turn you down, nerd." Jessica replied giving him a quick side hug before they started walking. Harry wasn't overly worried about his grades, he was worried about not getting a scholarship. Gemma couldn't afford it despite working three different jobs (in addition to Harry having a part time job at a bakery a block from their house) and he knew the applications alone were taking a toll on her financially. After their parents passed in a car crash they left the two with unfortunately very little once debts and other accounts were settled.

"I'm just scared is all. Plus it's 8 am and I didn't get any coffee today." He responded simply not wanting to elaborate or have an emotional conversation about the future and all. He still couldn't believe they were seniors. Although he often complained about school he enjoyed the security high school brought and had more good memories than bad.

"I'm sure Mr. Payne will have some." She suggested hitting Harry with her elbow in a joking manner.

"Shut it." Harry responded turning red as they entered home room. It didn't help his blush that his eyes met the attractive older man his best friend just mentioned from across the room. He was sitting on a desk while explaining some things to students. Harry recognized the students as Zain, Ian, Josh, and Daniel.

Liam Payne is a college student who studies nearby (Harry honestly doesn't remember the name of his school). He's in his third year of studying to become a social studies teacher and luckily for Harry that means he assists their AP Human Geography class every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. Also luckily for Harry the man was absolutely stunning. Harry would often stare at him when he got bored in class only to get caught every single time. It always embarrassed him and it didn't help that the older man would wink at him when he caught him. It was so hard not to stare, though. Liam had these soft brown eyes, matched with a constant happy smile on his lips, and some scruff. The man always wore a button down shirt (often with the sleeves rolled up), nice pants, and brown leather loafers. Today was no exception and he looked amazing as always in his typical attire.
