A Trip to Borneo

Chapter 1 : The golden ticket

I jumped up hear a thundering sound echoing through my ears, I opened my eyes slowly to see my alarm clock ringing. So I reached my arm and turned it off. I put on my monkey slippers and I staggered to the top of the steep, endless stairs. In my head I knew I would definitely fall down most of the stairs but because I was so tired I didn't care so I made the terrible decision to treck down the stairs. I was doing ok until i stepped too far and missed a step causing me to fall on my knee, then my hand, then my face. I lay on the cold floor for a few minutes then found the strength to get back up and have breakfast ( because who doesn't love breakfast.)
I limped to the kitchen and poured some cornflakes into a bowl and then I got some milk and as I was pouring the milk in my bowl kiera (who had slept at my house) shouted in my ear, I was so scared I jumped and spilled milk all over the counter. The next thing I heard was kiera hysterically laughing on the floor I looked down at her and gave in and started to laugh As well. After a few seconds I stopped laughing and helped kiera up from the floor, we cleaned the milky counter and ate breakfast together. My mum walked in "Good morning you two, you're up early what's happening?" She asked us suspiciously.
"We're waiting for a reply from this competition, we'll get a free trip abroad if we win" kiera explained excitedly.
"The postman has come and one of the envelopes had your name on so here you go girls" my mum said with a smile handing us the envelope.
We held the envelope in hands and ripped it open to see 10 golden tickets and a letter. We looked at each other with our mouths hanging open and I read the letter.

Dear Madeleine, we are very pleased to inform you that your story for the competition grabbed our attention and made us laugh and cry. So we have decided to award you 1st place.
Your win includes a once in a lifetime trip to Borneo for 4 weeks, staying in a 5 star hotel by the sea, spa sessions every day and famous delicious foods from around the world.
On the 25th of July you and your friends will need to travel to the airport at 7:00am to be greeted at the entrance by a group of leaders, they will get you on your own private jet and on your way to beautiful borneo. All the items needed are listed below

Kiera and I screamed in excitement, my mum ran in
"What's wrong is everyone ok??!!"
"We just won a free trip to Borneo with 8 others!!" Me and Keira screamed together. I looked a her and said "we're going to Borneo!!"
