yoo nahee plastered a fake smile on her face as she stood by her mother and greeted the two adults before her.

for the past hour, her mother had been dragging her around the reception of her cousin's wedding and introducing her to random people who she had never seen in her life.

"oh, you've grown so much, little nahee!" the lady pulled her into a hug which was rather uncomfortable for nahee but she had to be polite so she just laughed and nodded her head.

'yes, ive grown. its been 19 years, person i dont know.' she thought to herself, wide smile still on her face.

"and here's minki! you guys are distant cousins." the lady said as a boy a few years older than her arrived. he nodded his head awkwardly, probably feeling the same as her. who were all these people who claimed to somehow know her?

after a short conversation with that family, she quickly excused herself to head to the washroom.

nahee stared at herself in the mirror as she wondered why this wedding reception consisted of people mingling more than eating. she wasn't the mingling type of person.

she sighed and took in the silence of the washroom when her phone started ringing, scaring her out of her momentary relaxed feelings.

she looked at her phone to see that her mother was calling.

"nahee? where are you? there's someone i want to introduce you too." her mother cooed over the phone.

"why am i not surprised. im coming back in." nahee said dryly, exiting the washroom and going back to the banquet hall.

she saw her mother waving her over. she could see two adults near her mother.

'please dont be another cousin i've never seen before.' nahee thought as she got closer to where her mother was.

when she got close enough to see the people with her mother clearly, her heart started to race when she saw an ethereal boy about her age sitting at the table and laughing at something his mother probably said.

she stopped in her tracks, suddenly shy to keep walking towards them.

"nahee! come on, why are you standing over there?" her mother looked at her in confusion.

it was then that the boy also looked her way, their eyes meeting. nahee gulped and started walking again.

'please dont be another cousin.'
