"Oh god, I'm so stressed out!" cried Melissa, she couldn't focus and she have a headache. Lucas, Melissa's fiancé, was out with his friends so she was just at home, alone, with her laptop opened on her lap while in bed. Supposedly, she was going to present her project next Monday but it was too late and she slowly drifted off to sleep.Sunday, May 2017
The next morning, Lucas was in bed looking at his phone. "Morning babe," said Lucas as he rolled out of his bed to get dressed, "I'm going out now." "Where are you going?" Melissa asked curiously as she followed Lucas. Lucas didn't explain anything and left without a word. He slammed the door hard and took his blazer with him. Melissa felt like they were growing apart and they're not that same lovely couple 3 years ago. As Melissa went to the bathroom, she noticed that there was a red stain on the shirt Lucas wore yesterday and she suspected something. She thought maybe he drank red wine and accidentally spilled a little bit on this shirt. She didn't minded much of it but she wanted to make sure that it's nothing like a lipstick stain. There was a safe for each one of them, Melissa and Lucas both have one for their own. She knew Lucas' passcode and that she couldn't open it without his permission, but she just needed to. Inside, there were pictures. She thought she could look at them if she sees anything. And there were just work stuff like all the tabs he kept on his co-workers, behind a stack of files, there's a key. She never seen a key with the initial "KL" and then there's a heart following the last letter. For sure, it wasn't the key to her apartment. Something's just not right! So Melissa decided to call Lucas. "Not now, Mel!" Lucas hung up. She could hear a woman's voice in the background. Melissa felt like her heart has been broken into two and it's both shattered into million pieces. She didn't know what to do and she was so pained and confused. Melissa decided to take a walk around the city and then get back to doing her project. She was walking on the 68th Ave. Street and there was an alley down the middle. Suddenly, when she turned her head to face the alley, she recognized a familiar face. "LUCAS!" it seems to be Lucas lying on the ground and he was bleeding so much! Melissa ran to the end of the alley and called the police. She held his hand while tears were dropping from her cheeks to their hands. Lucas said these words, "G--g..eo..--rge..." His hands fell to the ground and suddenly Melissa felt like the sky was crashing down and the world was freezing cold. It wasn't long until the police came and the ambulance took Lucas away. Mel was taken to the police station for interrogation and she only needed to say two words: "George Hindley."
