This is the last chapter of this book, let me know if you have questions.

- Camila –

"Breakfast, Camila!" I heard my dad shouted from the kitchen. Sure, my dad was the mayor of this town, but we still lived a pretty normal life. It's just me and my dad. My mom passed away when I was 5. I walked downstairs and I smelt the home cooked meals. Diane makes really good food around the house. She was like my second mom.

I woke up with Y/N nowhere in sight and I saw a note beside me. I'll be back in an hour or so. Stay here and keep your head away from the door and windows. – Y/N Winsterson. I sighed and I felt sad. I don't know why. I am really not sure whether because Y/N is gone out of my radius or because I missed home. I just want to be out of the situation. I turned on the TV and flicked through the channels and the news caught me. It was my dad, giving a speech. "Crime rates here in Miami have been rising drastically the past 2 years. I am not saying that we need protection in every corner of the streets because if we do something like that, civilians will feel less safe. Please stay out of danger and if you feel unsafe, get out of the area or situation and call the police if you can. My daughter, Camila, she is still missing until now and we still don't know her location until today. She was declared missing 5 days ago, which felt like a very long time to me. Please keep your children safe and Camila, if you're watching this, please come home or call the police if you are not safe." He said and it felt like something just punctured through my chest. I haven't seen my father this vulnerable since mom died. We were close. My dad and I. I heard the doorknob jiggle and I thought someone was going to break in. It was just Y/N carrying a box. I got up to help her and I closed the door. "Thanks." She said. She set the box beside the TV and I peeked to see what was inside. "I got some food." She said and we started to clear the box. There was a loaf of bread, a week supply of baloney, a few cans of soda and a few bottles of water, a few bars of chocolate and a pack of cigarettes. "Cigarettes?" I asked. "It's a habit of mine. I hope you don't mind." She said. "Buying cigarettes or smoking them?" I asked and grabbed a chocolate bar. "Hm, both." She said. "Oh, okay." I said and sat on the bed with my back against the headboard. "I guess you have seen the news, huh?" she asked and sat down on the couch, with an unlit cigarette in her mouth. "Yeah." I said. "I promise I will get you back soon, Camila. I will." She said.

A week has passed and we're still at the motel. We didn't do much around here. Maybe just watch the shitty TV and talk. I got to know about her a little more. The routines are the same, sometimes she goes out to get food or beverages and I am stuck here. It was around 5 pm when I heard sirens outside. She was asleep on the couch and I looked out a little. Two cruisers were in front of the motel. I shook her awake and she sat up. "Y/N, the cops are here." I said. "What?" she asked. "The cops are here." I said. "Fuck, what do we do?" she asked. "Let's just see if they come up here." I said. She was behind me and she looked out too. "They're coming up the stairs." She said after a moment of silence. "Let's hurry and get out of here." I said. "Okay." She said and we got ready quickly and we ran to the truck. "THERE THEY ARE!" I heard one cop and we got out quickly. Sirens behind us. Cops were chasing. We were in a car chase for around an hour and Y/N pulled over on the hill. She got out and I shook my head. "Y/N, what are you doing?!" I asked. "I'm sorry, Camila. I tried to protect you." She said and the cops got out. "Put your hands in the air." He said to her. I didn't want her to be captured. I didn't want them to put her in jail. I don't want those. She put her hands up and the cop pointed his gun at her while he walked slowly to her. I ran in between them and he stopped. "I can't let you take her." I said. "Was she involved in your abduction?" he asked. "She was, but all she wanted was to protect me." I said. "It's our procedure, ma'am. Mayor Cabello have told orders to capture whoever is involved in the abduction." He said. "No, not her." I said. "We have to." He said and two cops took my hands and escort me out. Come on, Y/N. I tried to get out of their grip but Y/N gave up and the cops took her. "Wait." I said. I got out of the two cops' grips and ran to hug her. I saw guilt in her eyes and she was tearing up. "I'm sorry, Camila." She said. I grabbed her cheeks and kissed her. I wanted to stay here. Just me and her. I pulled away and the two cops took me. "No!" I cried and she looked back at me and she had tears running down her cheeks. They took her into the cruiser and they took me to another. Why did you do this, Y/N? What happened to the powers you had?
