"Kuroko... Try not to cause trouble for me please" Kuroko Tetsuya, aged 6. "But I didn't do anything. The girl just started crying." His mother sighed without changing her expression. Because of her son's emotionless face, he was unable to make friends and instead, scared them away with his blatant stare, intimidating everyone at his preschool. The teachers would try to get along with him but they would only receive a simple worded answer or not one at all and just a stare, making it hard for them to keep the conversation going, eventually leading them to giving up on their pointless attempts. "Try to smile a little, 'kay? Maybe you'll find a friend to play with" Kuroko fondled about with his cheeks for a few seconds, trying to get the shape of a smile then looked at his mum with eyes sparkling with silent determination. She sighed again, giving in to him. "Go... There's a playground nearby and there should be at least one kid around. Come home before the sunsets... It's dad's birthday remember?" Running outside the door with a keen nod, the world looked much brighter. The sun was still quite high up in the sky though it was getting pretty dark.
"I know the pain of being alone... Sorry for giving you my curse... Gambatte ne, Kuroko"After reaching the playground, he realized no one was there so he sat on the swing, hoping that maybe someone might come. He heard footsteps vaguely coming from the basketball court right next to the playground. A red haired child looking roughly his age, a bit tall though, was running with a ball and started to dribble it. He attempted to do slam dunks over and over again but obviously he wasn't tall enough and didn't have a super abnormal jumping power to do so, even though he was jumping pretty high. Shouldn't he give up already? He's sweating so much too. Although Kuroko wasn't in any position to say that as there wasn't much progress with him and his friend making. Trying to make out a smile on his face whilst approaching the other child, he started to tremble. What if he thinks i'm weird? What if he doesn't want to be my friend? Kuroko's mind was filled with those kind of thoughts but that didn't waver his will to make a friend. He reached the basketball court but every step towards it made Kuroko shiver more and when he stepping inside the court, he felt light headed.
"H-H-Hello...." He said faintly. The red haired boy steadied his ball in his hands. He was panting heavily and turned around, expecting to see someone but with didn't see anyone. Kuroko's weak presense. Kuroko completely understood the situation. He took a deep breath. He was going to approach him for just a bit of attention. If he wasn't going to do it know, he might as well not do it ever.
The red haired child sat down on a nearby bench. All this basketball must be making me hear things... I should take a rest. Mum said to be back before sunset so I still have time. A few moments after he sat down, he noticed a shadow in front of him. Looking up to see what exactly was blocking his dim sunlight, he saw a teal haired kid looking around his age, scaryishly smiling down at him. What does he want and where did he come from!? And what's with that smile.... It's freaky. Silently panicking, he noticed he was trying to say something. "Ah.... Eh.... Um....."
"Do you want something? I'm Kagami" He said with a smile, struggling to be friendly since he noticed that despite the his appearance, he was shaking and his cheeks were twitching. Looks like he's forcing himself. "I-I'm Kuroko...."
"Wanna play?" Kagami didn't mind the person as long they wouldn't mind playing basketball with him. Without needing a second thought, Kuroko shook his head up and down vigorously, eager to get along with Kagami. Kuroko's facial muscles were too tired to sustain the freaky smile and reverted back to his poker face but he didn't need his face to show his blooming with happiness. Kagami smiled at him. Kuroko's was incredibly surprised by this gesture. Nobody has ever directly smiled at him before, apart from the teachers but he could tell that they never really meant it. Kuroko had forced his smile before and it really hurt his facial muscles but this time he had done it naturally. For the first time, he smiled. He didn't notice that he was though. Kagami was surprised to see a thought-to-be poker faced boy, change his expression but not just change it, he smiled.
