Loneliness.
That was all I could feel as I wrapped my bruised arms across my body.
I would’ve cried if there were any tears left.
I would’ve screamed for help if I wasn’t silenced.
I would’ve begged for forgiveness if my abuser wasn’t so merciless.
They say that people change. I wish I could say the same for the man stood in front of me, looking down on me with rage filled dilated eyes. He raised his arm that was occupied with a weapon I was too familiar with, as he struck I shut my eyes and braced myself for the pain that would be inflicted.
“You ungrateful whore! How dare you ignore me when I’ve done so much for you?"
I muffled a whimper that escaped my mouth as he struck again with the wire whip.
“Answer me! Damnit.” Hissed out my abuser.
As he raised his muscled arm I made a mistake of scurrying away from him as my aching back made contact with the wall.
“Don’t run away from me! You deserve every hit you get.” He spit out with as much venom projected in his voice that I flinched.
I looked up at him and pleaded with my eyes for him to forgive me. He sighed like I was wasting his time and I released a breath of relief.
He noticed this and kicked me hard in my scarred abdomen before leaving the room and slamming the wooden door shut.
I was wheezing out breaths in pants as I waited for the pain to subside.
As I tried to stand up, a gasp made its way out as an excruciating pain shot from my stomach to my chest. I fell down to the wooden floor and grunted as the brunt of the fall caused my white hot pain to travel up my body. I quickly gained my equilibrium and eventually crawled to my bathroom, cleaned myself up and tend to my injuries with a first aid kit I bought with my savings.
Nothing else to do, I laid down on the rock hard mattress and tried not to wince as pain shot up from my stomach again.
At long last I succumbed to the darkness where other nightmares were waiting for me with the question “Why does my Dad hate me so much?” running through my mind.
