Some people say I'm weird for the loving the night. They just don't understand.Car j'ai aimé trop les étoiles pour avoir peur d'elles.
It means "For I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of them."
My name is Athena Belrose.
The name Athena is French for "Goddess of wisdom."
The name Belrose is from the name "Bellerose" which mean "beautiful rose" in French.
I am 18 years old and I live in Paris France.
I live alone.
My parents died when I was young. My mother died in childbirth and my father died in a car crash shortly after. I was raised by my aunt Blythe.
Blythe is French for "Happy."
I moved out about 6 months ago so I can begin a life on my own.
I love my aunt, for she is the only family I have ever had.
I don't know what I would do without her.
I learned English at a very young age. Some people say I'm better at English than I am in French.
I love all foreign languages.
Car ils sont si beaux.
It means "For they are so beautiful."
'
I am currently reading my book against my window that looks out at the lights of Paris.
I look up from my book and smile at the sight I am faced with.
They Paris is the city of love and that you are destined to find it there. Yet I have lived here my whole life, but I haven't found it yet.
It's the only thing I'm missing.
Love.
I know I might be too young, but I just want to be loved and cared for.
Is that so much to ask?
I decide that I should get some rest. I love the night, but I need my sleep.
'
I pick up my coffee and take a sip. I push up my glasses and look around the coffee shop.
"Est ce que je peux te prendre autre chose?" The waitress asks me.
{"Can I get you anything else?"}
"Non, merci." I say and smile.
{"No thank you."}
She smiles back and walks away.
I turn the page and continue to read the book in my hands.
I stop when I notice a boy standing in front of me.
"Euh, puis-je vous aider?" I say.
"Oh, uh, I don't speak French, um English?" He says. "You know, English?"
I giggle.
"Yes I know English. I asked can I help you." I say.
"Oh okay cool. Well um, I'm Ethan. I'm visiting and I was wondering maybe if you could show me around. I mean if you're not busy or anything." He says. I see his face turning a bit red.
"Of course. Um I'll just get my stuff." I say.
"Oh wait no you don't have to right now. I mean you probably want to finish you drink and stuff." He says.
"Oh well would look like to sit then?" I ask.
He smiles and sits in the seat across from me.
"So I didn't catch your name." Ethan says.
"Athena." I say.
"That's beautiful."
I blush.
"So tell me, Ethan, what brings you to Paris?" I ask breaking the silence.
"Well I've always wanted to come here. I've heard the city is beautiful, and the people." He says and looks at me in the eyes.
I smile and nod my head.
"So I'm guessing your from here?" Ethan says.
"Yes, born and raised here." I say.
"So do you have any family?" He asks.
"Well my mom and dad both died when I was young and I'm an only child so my aunt raised me until I was old enough to move out." I say.
"I'm so sorry about that. I mean your parents and stuff." He says.
"It's okay." I say smiling.
"What about you? Any family?" I ask.
"Yes actually I have a twin brother, his name is Grayson, and I have an older sister named Cameron, and then my mom and dad." He says.
"Oh cool." I say. "I've always wondered what it's like to have a twin."
"It's pretty cool I guess. I mean Grayson is pretty much my other half. I would probably be a completely different person without him." He says.
"Well then he seems delightful." I say.
