"Morning," Azure's voice woke me up that morning.
I opened my eyes and she was laying right next to me. Her hair curled around my face and arms. My face got hot, she laid there smiling.
"You're on my hair," Azure said, "Could you move?"
"Oh... sure thing," I got off the bed and she sat up, "You sleep there all night?"
"Course, It was comfortable," She brush her hair back with her fingers, "But I also couldn't really move once you fell asleep."
"Uh... Sorry," I said quietly, "I should've left you the bed."
"It's fine," she hugged me, "You bed's a full twin size bed, but it wasn't crowded. Plus your a warm sleeper and it was cold last night. Your face is red, you okay?"
"Yeah....... I'm... fine," I was completely embarrassed, "Let's go brush our teeth and eat breakfast."
We brushed our teeth and went out to the kitchen. Dad made fish sticks and salad for breakfast.
"Noah. You're still in your uniform. Go shower when you're done eating," Dad said.
"Yes sir," I replied as I sat down to eat.
"Call me Dad," He said as he handed Azure her plate, "Who are you again?"
"Azure Joy," Azure said as she sat down next to me, "Your son's a lovely host."
"Really? That wimp?" Dad was back to his usual self, "Short and scrawny, but at least he gets his work done on time."
"Hey!" Kat shouted from the other side of the table.
Azure laughed, "I assure you he's more than he seems if he has a little help."
"Alright enjoy yourself," Dad sat down and started eating, "don't say I didn't warn you."
I finished eating and washed my plate. I took a shower and brushed my hair. Azure was in my room drawing on the walls when I went in for a change of cloths. I wanted to say something, but she looked amazing drawing on the wall over the head of my bed. It looked like the sketch of a painting. There was a lake surrounded by trees. It felt like I was looking through trees to the lake as night sky was overhead. The grass, ferns, and flowers that covered the floor filled it with life. There were fireflies and lily's in the water. I couldn't look away.
"Amazing," I whispered to myself.
Azure stopped drawing and put the pencil down. She stared at it a while and took a deep breath.
"I'll need shades of green, blue, red, orange, yellow, purple, white, and black for this," Azure said, "Paint is best but oil pastels work too."
"Oh... umm... I don't have either of those," I replied.
"Changing? Imma pick out your clothes," Azure jumped up and started going through my dresser, "How about something cute?"
"No way," I wanted to pull her away from my drawers.
"Okay, we'll do lose jeans, this black shirt, and this green flannel shirt to match your long black tousled hair," She pulled everything out and handed it over to me.
"Um... Okay," I stood there as she closed my dresser, "You gonna leave so I can change?"
"Oh right," she walked out the door and closed it behind her.
I got changed and walked out side. She had disappeared. I ran about the house looking for her. I found her taking her school uniform out of the dryer.
"Right I forgot we washed it last night," I felt relieved that she wasn't hurt.
"My turn to change," She said. "Wait for me."
Azure came out wearing one of my larger shirts. It was black with a white skull in the center. She wore her light gray, uniform, skirt to go with it. She had on her mismatched socks. Purple and black stripes on the right, and plain black on the left. I grabbed fifteen dollars in cash incase we got hungry. Azure was already putting on her black combat boots when I grabbed my wallet. She waited by the door while I put on my black sneakers. My dad shouted for us to be safe and we left. I took Azure around to the park but she looked around with boredom. It wasn't until she pulled out her switchblade that I suggested she picked a new spot.
"Where do you wanna go?" I asked as I gently took the switchblade from her hand.
"I know this place in the woods," Azure said as she grabbed my hand.
