Chlo's P.O.V.

"5 Years." I spoke clearly to a new class of wannabe shadowhunters at the academy. "5 years ago one of our own ascended to heaven." I looked up as my best friend's face appeared on the screen behind me, as it did every time I gave this lecture. "At first people saw this girl as but another product of human experimentation at the hands of Valentine Morgernstern, but those of us who knew her knew so much more." All of the students gazed up in awe, they'd all obviously heard the stories, Jace and Clary with their angel blood, Jonathan with his demonic blood, and now Jade being the child of a shadowhunter and an angel. "She was an outstanding student at this academy and taught me everything I know. You will all be training under me now, I will teach you not only combat but I will also be your tutor for heavenly studies. Who else is better qualified to teach you than the Parabatai of an angel?" I held up my wrist so that the young shadowhunters could see the black Parabatai rune, whispers and murmers echoed round the room. Then came the stunned silence as they all turned back to me, and waited on baited breath for me to continue the lecture.

I returned to my home in Alicante, only to find none other than Jace lounging on my couch. "Leaving a window open, really? You're getting sloppy." He laughed.
"Jace, that window in on the third floor!"
"You of all people should know that would never stop me from proving a point." He shrugged standing up. All of a sudden my Parabatai rune began to feel strange, not unlike pins and needles. I elected to ignore it, I'm still learning what it means to be the Parabatai of an angel, it could be anything.
Jace and I continued chatting but the feeling in my wrist only gor worse, it started burning. I clenched my teeth, grasping my wrist in my free hand. "What's up? Your rune playing up again?" I screamed out in pain as the burning continued, worsening with each passing second.
"Something is very wrong! Jace! Make it stop!" Everything he tried failed until, without warning the pain subsided. "We need to find out what the hell just happened. I don't know what it was, but I can tell you for an angel to feel that much pain, it cant have been good."

So, there it is the set up for my next little story.
I hope you enjoy it as much as the last.
