I wake to the sound of the singing birds and the rushing stream.
I stretch my legs and look around.
My cave is dark and dry. It has the distinct sent of raw meat from last nights meal. The
cave is about the size of a small car and there is an opening at the front that is covered by a small shrub.
I walk to the opening of the cave and step half way out. Looking out at the forest I see the familiar scenery.
The trees that surround my cave are oak, pine, and birch. The sun is shining and the sky is blue.
"This is the perfect day to go hunting".
As I walk through the forest, I make sure that I am quiet, and that I am not seen.
If a deer sees me, it will run to the meadow and warn the heard, which will result in me having no food.
The trees are like a maze, they seem to have no pattern. That's what I love about this forest.
I can always find something new to explore.
Even though I have been a wolf for about a year now, I can still remember my old forest in Brazil. It was a beautiful rain forest. I was a parrot there and lived in an extremely tall tree. I could see down and into a large valley. I spent my days enjoying Brazil's amazing climate.
I had to leave because of poachers in the area who, somehow, discovered I was there. I swam across the ocean, with a heavy heart, in search of a new home. I really did love Brazil but I guess I knew that I wouldn't be able to stay there for long.
When I reached the United States I went the coast and searched the forests for a cave.
When I finally found this cave I had become desperate because I did not like sleeping out in the open.
I have lived in this forest ever since.
The meadow that I plan to hunt in is about the size of a football field. There is a pool of water in the middle and a few rocks on one side.
When I reach the meadow, I watch the deer graze. It is very peaceful today, but, why are they so calm? They have no deer watching for danger.
Something isn't right.
