Before we start! I'd really appreciate it if you guys could let me know your thoughts and keep an eye out for anything that might not add up in this chapter! The goal was to go into more detail but I've read this a thousand times so i'm not sure anymore if it covers everything! Please let me know if you have any questions that you want answered or if i missed something that was brought up in the old version! There will be two more chapters after this as well, next chapter will introduce Kuroko! Thank you and please leave me a comment so I can make this better!

"He's in here..." The nurse whispers. She pauses before moving to open the door. "I should warn you... He's still very unstable..."

"I know it's our first-time meeting, but I think I can handle not scaring my 10-year-old nephew." Jirou tells the woman, trying to reassure her. She shakes her head at him.

"That's not what I mean..."

I'm more worried about him scaring you.

The thought stands out in her mind and Jirou raises his eyebrows, wondering exactly what was behind the hospital door. All the nurses and Doctors on this floor look terrified when they pass by the door with Akashi Seijurou's name on it. None of them have given a concrete thought for Jirou to go off, but everyone seems to fear the 10-year-old boy. Jirou frowns at the door, steeling himself.

"He's my nephew." Jirou repeats. He sends a reassuring smile to the nurse. "I'm the only family he has left now. I have to go in there."

The woman just nods and steps away from the door.

Good luck.

Jirou takes a deep breath before opening the door, making sure to close it right behind him. Akashi Seijurou is easy to spot. Even if he wasn't the only one in the room, the bright color of his hair naturally draws attention. He looks nothing like his father.

Seijurou is looking out the window next to his bed. The room is quiet and it's so peaceful that Jirou wonders what exactly the nurse was so afraid of.

"Seijurou?" Jirou calls his nephew's name. He steps closer to the bed. He can't get a clear thought out of his head and Jirou frowns. It sounds like radio static. Like when you stop between two stations on a dial radio and can hear the songs from both stations playing between the static.

It's not until Jirou is standing right next to Seijurou's bed that the young boy finally moves. He turns his head quickly, meeting Jirou's eyes. Jirou almost gasps when he see's the young boys' eyes. Bright yellow and unnatural. He definitely didn't get that from his father. Jirou opens his mouth to say something, but Seijurou beats him to it.

"Akashi Jirou." The young boy says, a wide grin starting to pull at his lips. "Second son of Akashi Katsurou. The one he disowned. Abandoned his own child because he was a freak. A liar and a freak. Unworthy of the Akashi name."

Seijurou laughs lightly. "You ran away out of shame. Traveled the world searching for a place to belong, but still. Years and years after being abandoned by your own blood, you have nothing to show. No family. No love. No home. You're just a worthless traveler that no one would care about if you died. You're no one. Just a freak. No one needs you. Why did you ever, even for one second, think I would need you? You aren't an Akashi. You aren't any relative of mine. I wouldn't even care for a moment if you dropped dead. Just like your father. Just like your brother."

Jirou is stunned. He's paralyzed in place as he stares into the glowing yellow eyes of his only remaining relative. Looking into the young boy's mind is like watching his life flash before him. Seijurou can see all of it. All of his flaws and mistakes, and he isn't afraid to throw them all right back in Jirou's face.
