• MONDAY;At Veronica's

"Do you want something to drink? Maybe a coke?", I asked mockingly. Archie let out a slight sigh. "Ro-Veronica. We used to be best friends.", he said. "And we always looked out for each other even when we weren't that close.", Archie added. I bit my lower lip. He was right, but I actually had no idea what his actual aim was. We knew each other since second grade and we were best friends ever since. But things got complicated in grade nine when I catched feelings for him. Luckily, he catched feelings for me, too. But as you can see, it didn't last long. "So? Like you said, we used to be. So why are you here, Archie?", I asked looking right at him. "I want to make things right.", he admitted. I let out a fake laugh. "Sure. How's Heather doing, by the way? Or is it Jenny? Sorry, seems like I can't keep up anymore.", I said mockingly. I still loved him, that was no secret. But I had to stay strong for myself and when I saw him like this, coming to my house after three months of.. nothing. I just became really angry at him. And that was when I really realized how much he actually hurt me. "You don't know anything.", he fired back. "Trust me, I know enough.", I said harshly and stood up from the couch. "You know.. I might wear glasses now and I might actually dress more like myself, but I'm still the same Veronica and I'm not one of your projects. You can't just show up here, pretending like nothing happened between us three months ago and then expect me to just forgive you for letting your 'friend' humiliating me in front of the whole school." "Ronnie." "I told you not to call me that.", I said while my voice broke. That's when I turned around. I couldn't get weak and I couldn't let him see me be weak. What the hell was wrong with me? The Veronica Lodge I knew wouldn't take a hint from anybody. The Veronica Lodge I knew was the Queen Bee of New York. She never followed the rules, she always broke them. And she was the one flirting with guys and playing hard to get. What happened to her? Archie Andrews happened. And sadly, that was all it took to rip me apart.
