Chapter 1

- Ariana's POV -

I walk down the halls of my high school, which I hate, and I see the schools best soccer player. His name his Luke Hemmings but Luke hates that he is popular so he hangs around the normal people. His friends are Michael Clifford, Ashton Irwin, and Calum Hood. I honestly don't care for them but they kind of scare me. I have one friend and her name is Nicole and she is dating Ashton so he doesn't scare me that much but the rest of them does.

" Hey Nicole, do you know why Calum looks so mean all the time?" I asked because he looks so mad or looks mean and I wanted to know why.

" Yea I do actually, Calum's parents died in car crash and he hurts everyone all the time and he doesn't mean too." Nicole said. I felt bad for Calum after I heard that. I didn't know that.

" Oh, that's horrible but why does everyone hate him?" I asked.

"Oh um, people don't hate him they just don't talk to him because he doesn't like people that much." Nicole said. Well that makes sense now.

" Has he ever smiled..like ever?" I asked because I have never seen him smile or laugh.

" Not since his parents died 12 years ago. Calum really needs someone but he just doesn't want anyone but himself." Nicole said. Wow, so he hasn't smiled or laughed since his parents died 12 years ago.

" Ok. well I thanks for the answers Nicole. Your the best!" I said.

" Wait, Ariana what are you going to do?' Nicole asked.

" I am going to help Calum." I said because I wanted to help him.

" ARIANA, please don't. He will hurt you really bad!" Nicole said. why shouldn't I help him I thought. I just ran to Calum after she said that.

While I was running I ran into someone.

" Oh I am so sorry I didn't see where I was going." I apologized.

'It's okay." The person said. But the voice sounded familiar. So I looked up and saw Calum.

" Hi Ariana." Said Calum.
