Rhett was lost in his own thoughts as he was driving, his brain was on automatic mode and it didn't occur to him that he was driving link home... Home as in Christys house.

Link knew, though he didn't tell rhett because he didn't want to be a hassle to him. He stayed silent but his mind was screaming.

They got to a stop light, and rhett looked over at link he really nervous all of a sudden, his leg jiggling again.
Then he realised where he was going. "Oh jeez link oh gosh I'm so so sorry!" you sleep at mine until we sort this mess out. " rhett felt like such a bad friend for doing that, he wanted to make it up to him in so many ways.

" uh n-no y-you--" rhett stopped link in his sentence." Link you are not going back to that fucking hell house okay.. Not under my watch. I know you don't want to get on my nerves but you will if you go to that house. And, I know you don't want to back there anyway I can tell you don't." Rhett put his hand on links shoulder and turned the car around.

They arrived at Rhetts house, as came to the front door, they could hear the faint sound of kids running around and giggling, link sighed wishing it were his kids, but they were with Christys. "wait link, are the kids gonna be safe with christy?" rhett asked " yeah they are definitely safe! Christy would never lay a hand on them.. They are part of her too."

The front door opened abruptly, it was Jesse and little shepherd clinging onto her leg "hey guys.. Is everything okay? Youre really late and well link you don't come here all the time? "

"yeah we're fine honey, just had to take link to doctors appointment and decided that he could well-" Rhett was digging himself a hole by lying link interrupted rhett. "the t-truth is t-that me and c-c-christy are uhm not getting on very w-well a-an--" Jesse saw links eyes had started to water, "okay I get it.. I'm sorry for that.. So I take it you are gonna sleep here tonight, because that's cool with me? Jesse smiled sympathetically. " y-yes please.. Thankyou s-so much " link hugged Jesse.

Link went to bathroom to get cleaned up and slightly more settled in.

In the meantime, Jesse's pulled rhett aside to talk in private.

"oh my God rhett what's wrong with link?" She whisperd "and why does he have a freaking cast on his arm?!"
Rhett hesitated before he spoke, "in all honesty I don't know that much, all I know i-is Christians.. Christy has been abusing link for a long time now and I never realised" rhett rubbed his temples wishing that this never happened. "shit.. A.. And the cast?" she asked "he was holding his thoughts in for a long time.. And he let it all out.. Through his fist. Look, he doesnt want you to know what is going on... So just go along with me here okay? Rhett brushed her cheek with his thumb," alright. I'll go make some food for you too.. You've had a long day." Jesse's said as she walked off into the kitchen.

Rhetts head was pounding from all the drama that played out that day, he payed on the couch and stared into space.
