"Urgh" i grunt as i slap on the snooze for my alarm clock

Monday

I hate mondays. Especially today. Today is the first day back at college.

I can feel my body want to shut down as soon as i stand up to take a shower. After what happen at the end of last term i feel it wants to just crawl backing into a ball and hide under my duvet again.

The last time i went to college ten weeks ago the last thing i remember is some massive fight between all four of my friends. The worst part is that i cant remember what it was about.

When i finally reached the shower  i got in and turn up the temperature feeling it sting the top of my shoulders and neck. Once i finish washing i go and have my breakfast immeadiatly regreting drinking orange juice after brushing my teeth.

My slow, sluggish movement continues as i trudge back upstairs to get my bag and coat. Once i return to the kitchen i pick up my car keys and coffee and walk oit the house shouting goodbye to my parents as i leave.

The brisk cold are hits my face like a brick wall. As i quickly throw my coat over my shoulders i begin my short walk to the car park across the road  saying the occasional morning to the postman and some people walking on the path.

As i approach my car i see her. One of my friends from the arguement.

Gemma brooks

Is she still my friend? We were closer then two peas in a pod the last time i saw her but now we have spoken in weeks. Months even.

I unlock my car ,passing the thought of speaking to the back of mind, and open my car door.

"Taylor wait" she said across the car park.

"What" I answered spitefully.

Why did i answer like that? Thats not me at all. Im meant to be a nice guy. The good guy. The look on her face seemed distressed.

"Gemma im sorry i didnt mean for that to come across that rude" i quickly say as if to help with the tension.

"Its ok" she replied shyly "my car wont start and i know that we had that massive fight at the end of the year and all and im really sorry for that but..."

"Woah hey slow down a bit what do want?" I say calmly

"I just want to ask if you could help me get it started?"

"Tell you what get in my car and i'll take a look later" i say with slight confidence "sound good?"

"Yeah i guess" she replied shyly again.

Gemma was always the shy one she would sit it the back of the classroom twidleing her thumbs not talking much. During the arguement she had sat in the corner crying while everyone else was shouting. I should made sure she was ok before i left.

She got in the passenger seat and i drove towards the college. Its only a fifteen minuet journey to the college but this time it seemed to drag. We sat in silence for pretty much the whole journey. She asked me how i was and how much more id learn to play on the bass guitar. I asked her the same in return about her guitar but other than that there was dead silence.

For most of the trip there i spent my time trying to remember why we had that arguement but i just cant think of the reason.

When we finally got to the college i pulled up in the car park and grabbed all my stuff as she did the same. We started to walk different ways when she said.

"I guess i'll see you in music later then"

"uhh yeah i guess" i replied nervously

Shit

Music class. All of us in the group of friends that had the arguement are in that lesson.

I can just tell this days going to go well.
