It all changed

A mother, father, and four perfect sons. Nope. Not at all. What seemed like a perfectly happy family, deeper down, there were flaws.

The mother: religious, loving, over critical, unfiltered.

The father: traditional, cheater, lier, abandoner.

Then there were the sons. The first two, the twins: submissive, passive, dim.

The middle son, Chase: logical, emotionless, scared.

The last son, Junior: defensive, shut in, gay.

Not saying being gay is bad. This family, in particular, did think to be gay was bad. On most occasions, this family would be together where ever they went. They were nice to each other and got along. Some mothers would envy this mother for she was raising four sons on her own after her husband left. It was amazing. And to make it better, Junior, was seventeen. Making the others way older.

It was one fall's day, approaching Junior's eight-teenth birthday, where everything changed.

Junior was walking along the sidewalk in a quite cliche suburb. The air was cool and the leaves were falling. Every step Junior took caused leaves to crunch under his feet. He wasn't really in a hurry to get home. For it was a Friday, meaning that his father was home to take him to visitation. Since he was seventeen, it was under the law that his father takes him for the weekend. The other three were older than eighteen so they could do whatever they pleased.

It was quiet around until a pair of foot steps started behind Junior. He turned back and saw his not-so best friend running up to him.

"Hey, Michael the second, wait up!"

"Jason, I told you not to call me that. Junior is just fine."

"But,", Jason said in between breaths, "it makes me sound so old. I'm eighteen bro, I want to feel young."

"Yeah, what ever. What's up?"

"Nothing much, I couldn't help but notice that your butt looks great in those pants."

Junior blushed a deep red. He sped up his walking.

"Just joking man. It's funny to see you blush."

"Har har har.", Junior said.

Jason laughed it off. Junior did the same. Jason was known as the playboy. He would go from one girl to another at school. His current record is five girls in one week, one per day. But to Junior, he was cunning, funny, and a great person to be around. Yes, Junior had a little crush on him. But that would go nowhere for Jason was straight.

The two finally made it to Junior's house. His dad's car in the driveway. Junior took a deep breath in and out. Jason put a hand on his shoulder.

"Hey man, I get it. It's two more weekends, then you'll have a say if you want to go or not. Ok?"

"Ok.", Junior said stretching the 'k', "But two weeks seems so long. I shouldn't use the word hate, but I hate him so mu-"

Junior was cut off by Jason's lips colliding with his. His eyes were widened, but soon he found himself getting comfortable. Jason separated first, his eyes searching Junior's face.

"What was that?"

"Um...I don't...know. I was trying something.", Jason said.

There was silence between them. Neither two knew what to do. Jason then began to step back.

"Wait, Jason!", Junior called.

But Jason was already running to his house down the street. Junior looked down to the ground and walked toward his front door.
