Do you remember when
you played with wooden toys?
Imagined you were a train
And made that weird 'choo-choo!' noise?
Remember when 9 year olds
didn't have those iPhones?
When Facebook, Tumblr and Twitter
Weren't our thing?
We had our coloring books and crayons,
Drawing stick people with 3 or 5 strands of hair.
I bet you can remember those times
Of hide and seek and hopscotch.
Things were simple when we were young.
When we had our extreme sense of imagination.
And when we were still figuring out
What was right from wrong.
Miss those times of connect-the-dot homeworks?
Or maybe 5 +1 was six?
Because let me tell you
I sure as heck did!
We didn't choose our friends when we were five.
No one was fat or weird.
We were all equal.
Just new interestig people to play with.
Remember when mom used to
Kiss your wound whenever
you fall?
Or how dad used to measure your height on the wall?
Do you remember how
The Powerpuff girls defeated Mojo Jojo
Every single time?
And how the Justice League protected the world
From evil crimes?
And NOW people give you strange looks
Whenever you order a happy meal.
You should probably had ordered a burger and fries,
But STILL.
Every little thing about my childhood
Wasn't improtant then.
But now I can't help but wish
I was a kid once again.
Time flies by too fast.
If only I had powers to pause time
Or to just make it stop.
But I can't.
And now I have to face the greatest challenge in life:
Growing Up
