Chapter 5 ~ Growing Bonds and a Change of Scenery

A week of school passed quickly, since the unforgettable first day. However, one would Monday's are supposed to be pretty awful in more ways than one. It was Friday, and the final bell had just announced the weekend to the suddenly energetic students.

Mikaela was one of those students, while remembering that he promised to spend some time with his siblings after school today. He planned to walk to the nearby elementary school and walk with his siblings, but during lunch today, Yoichi asked if they could all hang out this afternoon. 'This is getting a bit troublesome. How am I going to pacify both my siblings and my new friends without upsetting either group.' Mikaela stressed internally.

"Hey guys! I don't think you've actually met my siblings have you?" Mikaela wondered aloud.

"No. Why do you ask?" Shinoa asked curiously.

"Well, my siblings actually wanted me to spend time with them this afternoon, but I was wondering if you wanted to join us. Well, I-I mean would you like to, y-you don't have to of course! I was just curious that's all." Mikaela stuttered slightly in embarrassment while blushing slightly.

Mikaela's new friends stared at him in utter shock, they've never seen Mikaela act this way, which they honestly thought was kinda adorable. They thought that hanging out with him and his siblings might be fun, so they all agreed with Mikaela's suggestion and walked out of the parking lot, and heading to the elementary school, while Akane decided to drive her car so they could get home later. Akane hadn't gone near the bike since the first day so they decided she would take her on the same days as Mikaela would take his bike to stay away from the "Death Trap on Two Wheels", or so she named the machine. Mikaela, however decided to carpool with Akane today, since the siblings made plans to hang out later that afternoon.

When arriving a few minutes later, Mikaela was tackled to the ground by a few blurs sprinting towards him. As he moved to sit on the ground rather than sprawled on it, he proceeded to hug the little rascals in a big bear hug.

"Brother Mika!" the little ones exclaimed with absolute joy

"Hey kids, how was your day? Did you behave during school?" Mikaela asked them sternly.

"Yes, Brother Mika!" They chorused in unison.

"You little liars, I bet you mischievous devils did something, but never got caught, ne." Mikaela stated knowingly.

The younger siblings looked at each other and smiled sheepishly at their big brother.

"Yeah. I thought so. You do realize, you guys can never fool your big brother. You should know that by now." Mikaela scolded them gently.

"Gomenasai, Onii-chan." The children apologized.

"You're forgiven, now where do you guys wanna go, we've barely seen this city, we should at least go somewhere nearby." Mikaela spoke to everyone.

"Brother Mikaela, who are those people with you?" Taichi asked nervously.

"No need to be shy, Taichi. Guys, these are my friends, this is Kimizuki, Shinoa, Mitsuba, Yoichi, and Yuichiro." Mikaela introduced the teens.
