"Woah, where am I?" Natsu asked outloud, his fingers twitching at the complete silence. His voice echoed faintly into the distance, his footsteps not following too far behind with the dirt crushed under his feet.

He spun around once, twice, maybe three times before it registered that in every direction was the same endless view of nothingness. The air was more heavy, thick, and his nose seemed to pick up on it. He couldn't tell North from South, or any sense of way. It was nothing compatible to a maze, yet he was stuck by choosing which way to venture forth.

"Natsu..."

Natsu held his breath, glancing behind him at the endless amount of pitch-black, barely able to see how far or close anything was, if there had been anything to begin with.

"I swear I heard someone say my name," Natsu whispered, keeping a keen watch all around him in case if it was an ambush.

"Natsu..!" A voice barely yelled from behind, the voice familiar to him.

Natsu's feet started walking in the direction, confused and curious at the same time. "Hello?..."

"...Natsu..! Help...!"

Natsu's eyes boggled wide open, moving his pace from walking to a fast jog. He prayed that it wasn't who he thought it was in need of his help. If anything touched h-

"Natsu!"

A strangled scream followed after their call, a cry of help in desperate need.

Natsu started sprinting in the direction, heavily breathing with worry building up in his chest. "Luce..! Lucy!" He yelled out, his voice cracking in between.

His eyes barely spotted a smaller feminine figure with long hair in a high side ponytail being held by the throat from a larger, more deformed figure he couldn't decipher.

"Natsu!"

"LUCY!"

"Nat-!" The voice instantly cut off.

Natsu's eyes widened, horrified.

The smaller figure limply hung as dirtied claws closed around her throat, piercing all the way through. Blood gushed down on her porcelain skin, staining her blue sleeveless shirt.

"NO!" Natsu shrieked as whatever the figure was dropped the limp body on the ground, satisfied with its prey.

"LUCY!"

"LUCY!" Natsu yelled, snapping upright in his bed, heavily panting. He gulped Andean a hand through his damp, sweaty hair, feeling multiple sweat-drops bead down his forehead and shirtless upper body.

The only noise he could hear were his own desperate breaths as his eyes sporadically looked around his room, seeing that he was still in bed.

"Natsu, are you okay?" A voice tiredly called, yawning before continuing. "You just randomly yelled Lucy."

"Happy, I'll be back," Natsu swept his feet to the cold floor, already knowing where his destination was.

"It's only two in the morning! We don't need to be at the guild this early!"

"I'm not goin' there now, just meet me there later today," Natsu replied over his shoulder. He shoved his feet in his sandals before hurriedly pacing out his house, roughly slamming the door behind him.

The cold and early air chilled against his skin, a much needed refresher from how bad he was heating up right now. It was more effective from his body being covered in sweat caused by his bad dream.

Along the way, his mind could only replay the recent dream repeatedly, his adrenaline skyrocketing along with his throbbing heartbeat that was soon to burst from his chest if he didn't see her soon.

Natsu made it to a certain apartment, climbing up to the unlocked window, seeing it was already halfway open to let fresh air in. He slid through easily, planting his feet silently on the ground.

He crept towards her bed, brows furrowed with an uncomfortable tightness in his chest from his dream. All he needed was someone to reassure every little meaningless fear that sauntered in his head were only imaginary.

Long blonde hair swept across the pillow, a figure bundled up with blankets sound asleep.

Natsu slowly walked over and stood for a moment, watching how peaceful she was now. A tiny smile grazed on her pink lips with the edge of the blanket up to her chin, a perfect state of a deep slumber.

He gently placed his foot and hands on the bed to crawl to the other side, shifting the weight that dipped with him. His feet peeked out from the bottom of the blankets, torso facing her backside. After a few seconds of silence, his arm gently laid over her with the gap between them only a few mere inches.

A light voice barely peeped up, the blonde shifting a little under his arm. "Natsu, is that you?"

Natsu didn't reply, opting to only nod his head.

She stretched her legs and slowly turned towards him, her long golden locks messily swept over her shoulder. "Why are you here? It's too early to barge in."

Natsu stayed silent, only vividly staring off at a random spot with a distressed expression on his face, an uncomfortable tenseness stiffing his muscles.

The bed shifted again, this time the weight dipping more closer to one side. Natsu let his heavy eyelids close after feeling her arms bring him into a gentle embrace, his cheek resting on the pillow with her arm tucked between the crook of his neck. Another hand touched his head, fingertips brushing soft locks of salmon colored hair. The simple touches warmed him up, the tension slowly subduing for now.

"I had a bad dream, Luce," Natsu mumbled, tucking his arm under the blanket to rest on her exposed hip, badly covered by her extra large white t-shirt she slept in.

"It's okay, I won't kick you out this time," Lucy lightly whispered, softly gazing at his face. "But just this once."

A small smile tugged at the corners of Natsu's lips to hear her soothe gentle words in his ears, slowly running her fingertips back and forth. It was these sweet tender moments he treasured most with her, only him. It was a feeling brand new to him, and he enjoyed every taste of it.

Lucy placed a light kiss on his forehead and smiled to see his body slowly melt from its stiff stature. Rare delicacies of him needing her comfort, wanting her to caress him, believing she made every worry crumble to ash made up every time she needed him.

Natsu pulled her closer against his chest, touching their foreheads together. Her fingers grazed his light blushing cheek, opening his eyes to see a pink color flourishing on her own. "Thanks, Luce."

"Yeah, anytime Natsu," Lucy softly replied, letting her eyes flutter closed, letting herself melt in his warmth. She could feel his hot breath tickle her nose and lips, soon to feel him gently place his lips on hers for a sweet kiss.

It's soft, gentle and warm that only lasted for a second, but the tenderness lingered on her saccharine lips. The wave of warmth that made her heart flutter.

Natsu felt his eyes closing, quickly finding himself falling into a deep slumber. "I love you," He mumbled in the most quiet voice.

"I love you too," Her honey-sweet voice hummed back, the last calming words to make him smile before walking into a blissful dream, knowing his Luce was safe.
