“That’s perfect!” He smiled, watching my perfect position. And then I hit the ball, all by myself.

I gave one hysterical small scream of happiness and ran to him, hugging him by the neck.I was happy, this was the first time I actually was able to hit the ball without hurting anyone (because I told Niall to step away a few meters, but still, I didn’t hurt nobody). He hugged me back, kissing the top of my head and I looked up, smiling.

“Thanks you!” I whispered

“For what?” He asked

“Not giving up!” I shrugged, a smile playing on my lips

“It took a lot of work, but still, it payed off!” I giggled and hugged him again, burring my head in his neck curve.

And my phone rang. I went to pick it up in case something happened. When I did go pick it up, Niall took it as a need for a break, so we just stood lying on the ground, talking, laughing. It was pretty great in my opinion. But my phone was ringing now and I need to answer it before the person who’s calling kills me.

“Hello?” I asked, my hands still around Niall’s neck

“I need help!” She said with her worried tone

“What’s wrong?” I let go of Niall, waking a few steps away from him. He frowned, looking at me, also worried

“Remember the fundraising event my mom is having tomorrow?” She asked

“Yes Danny, what’s wrong with that?” I asked, still confused and scared.

Ellen and Darrin’s fundraising was one of the events I allow myself to go to. It’s to gather money to help children in Africa. My mom has a bit of a saying in the company that helps, since it’s my granddads company and he trusts my mom with everything he can. I think my uncles judge her a bit because of that. Well, my mom, coming from a big family with a lot of money, everybody would assume my granddad trusted all his kids with separate parts of his empire. But no, he only trusts my mom. Yeah, sure, she likes to control everything and she has skills for the job, I just don’t get why.

Anyways, every year, me and Danny come up with something to help because we can’t stay out of it. We tried once, five years ago. We decided to stay late at my house since my parents were at Danny’s house, we tried to watch movies, eat popcorn, but we just couldn’t stay out. It seemed wrong of us not to participate. Even Danny wanted to have a saying. So, while they were arranging everything at their house, me and Danny decided to have a sale and try to gather up money ourselves. Our parents were happy, very happy.

“We still haven’t thought about it and it’s tomorrow!” She hurried and I panicked a bit 2Don’t panic, calm down!” She instructed and I breathed deeply three times. I was calm now. I hate when people hurry me up.

“ know, we have to think of something!” I said

“I have already!” I could tell she was smiling proudly

“What is that brilliant idea of yours then?” I asked

“Let’s make some cakes and sell them to gather up money!” I smiled widely

“Great idea. But…” I was cut of by hr

“We can’t cook at your house because you mom won’t let you go near kitchen without making it a crime scene investigation!” She snorted. I laughed

My mom was always… trying when it came down to me cooking. She’s afraid I’ll chop off a finger or something, so she doesn’t let me use the basics. Knifes, the electric wand, the stove… She doesn’t even let me turn on the stove when she’s around. I think she really doesn’t have any idea of how much I cook when she and dad are out. She doesn’t have any idea of how much I love to cook neither, but well… What can I do about it.
