Layla Hart was a ghost around Beacon Hills. After her mysterious and rather abrupt disappearance on a warm August night in 1992 followed by a three-day search party, the police shut her case claiming that she was gone. There was no point in looking and searching when there was no way in hell that they'd come close to even clues of her whereabouts.
In an accidental slip up caused by mistaken identity and a Norse tribe, Layla spent the next twenty-two years being poked and prodded at, leaving her with beautiful markings on her skin with a not so beautiful purpose. They claimed that she would be death itself and that grown men would tremble in her presence.
That did not stop her from running until her knees gave out and her heart pumped so hard that she could hear its pounding in her ears and taste blood in her mouth. Only fate would have it that the place she fell was the porch of Malia Tate's house.
And only fate would have it that two lost girls found a home in one another but not without a few complications. One of them being that Layla was a thirty-nine-year-old woman stuck in a seventeen-year-old's body.
