We walked into the restaurant and were greeted by a young man in a bow tie.
"Table for...?" He asked, raising an eyebrow as we flooded through the door.
"We have a reservation." I supplied
"Name, please?"
"Sierra."
"Yes, right this way."
As we paraded to our table I glanced at the host (that's what the people who give you your menus are called) and commented,
"I like your bowtie."
"Thank you. Bowties are cool." *
We sat down at our table, each of us girls feeling a bit like whales because of our dresses. Cole had it the easiest. Her fluffy peacock patterned dress was only knee length making it easy to shove and rearrange. I didn't have that luxury.
"Your waiter will be here in a moment." The host told us.
"I will pay anyone 5 bucks to flirt with the waiter or waitress." Nick says, pulling out a 5 dollar bill from his wallet.
"Seriously?" Lewis asks peeking over her menu. Her eyebrows are raised in curiosity but her mouth is a thin line of contempt.
"Yup. First person to get his or her number gets it."
"I'm game." Taylor said, cracking a smirk.
"Me too." Joy added
"Bring it." I said, cracking my knuckles.
"Taylor, Joy, Sierra... anyone else?"
Cole raised her hand, "I'll do it."
"Shut up shut up here he comes!" Daisy whispered urgently.
"Hi welcome to Crockett's, can I get some drinks started for you?" The waiter beamed down at us. I tilted my head. He was in his early twenties. Blonde, big blue eyes and an easy sloppy grin that made you feel like you had known him for all eternity. I glanced around the table and saw my friends melt under his gaze.
As the others ordered their drinks I came up with my game plan. I not only needed to flirt with the waiter, but seduce him. I was properly attired, but I needed to embellish. I bent over to grab the drink menu, flashing a glance down my shirt. I could feel the tips of my ears turn pink. This was way out of character for me but I mean, it's the Fall Dance and half of our group is intoxicated and won't remember their last name by the end of the night. I flipped through my options before looking up through my eyelashes at the waiter.
"I'll have a Shirley Temple, please." I purred
I swear I saw the waiter flush for a split second as he hurried off to get our drinks. The second he was out of sight, my entire party turned to me in bewilderment. I flashed them a sweet smile.
"I just really wanna win." I stated
Nathaniel whistled his disbelief and returned to browsing the menu. We did the same and the conversation was kept to a minimum, just the occasional comment on this option or that.
The waiter returned with our drinks and Joy uttered a small gasp.
"Oh my gosh we didn't tell you how to break up the bill!" she said to the waiter.
The guys shared a knowing glance that made me uneasy.
"Don't worry ladies. We got this." Taylor smirked
My jaw hit the floor.
"Wait, you're paying for our meals???" Daisy squeaked
"Yeah, I mean, that's the nice thing to do right? Unless you'd rather-" Garred raised his hands in surrender.
