Trickle. Pitter patter. Drizzle of tears falling helplessly in to my numb hands. I felt like nothing. I was nothing. Why am I alive! They say to be yourself, but they don't realise one thing. People will judge you, if you are yourself. I want to be a different person. Fear and anger devour my thoughts, as I kneel there on the icy cold floor, pouring out my emotions. The world out there hate me, I hate myself. This world is a insecure place, or do I only think that?

Drrrrrrrrrinnnnnnng!!! Oh no! that piercing sound signalling my death. I stumbled up. My head was spinning. Something caught my attention, my ugly reflection in the mirror. Short black messy hair, dark circles under my large dark brown eyes, well technically half of the chocolate button eyes are surrounded with blood shot red veins. I glanced away from my reflection, I felt like crossing my face out with a large permanent sharpie. Oh! I scrutinised the time on my watch, I was five minutes late. Hurriedly, I sprinted out of the door. Running and running. Mrs. Michelle won't be happy. Oh wait! She is never happy. She owns sharp, eagle eyes, the corners of her mouth are always turned down into a frown, she wears a pitch black dress which hangs over her knees and her gigantic elephant feet resting in ruby red thin high heels. One of the features I forgot to mention is that she is the rudest teacher ever.

Huffing and puffing, I entered the classroom. People were staring me at me as if I just arrived from another galaxy, or I had just committed a crime, or the most likely reason I was ugly, even uglier than a alien. I gulped and staggered into the unwelcoming party of humans. Mrs. Michelle gazed at me with a huge big frown on her face.

" Why are you late?" she enquired.

" I was helping the principal with a...a ...a something," I stammered in a meek voice.

" Oh no Mrs! She was probably putting on makeup cause she looks ugly with out it. But let me give you some advice honey, you look the same no matter what you do? You look U-G-L-Y!, " Lexi exclaimed.

The whole class burst into peels of laughter. I felt like punching them right then and there. But I guess they are right. People want to turn their heads the other way when they come walking past me. Even the mirror breaks when I glance into it, or is just my imagination. Reluctantly, I dragged my feet to my wooden, rusty desk.

30 long, stressful minutes passed. I was gazing out the window. Admiring the crystal clear horizon blending in with the grey gravel of the playground and the fluffy clouds hanging above our heads, forming funny shapes and the warm sun beaming down at our tiny faces. But this world is a mysterious place. It has got a warm feeling from the outside but we don't know what hidden secrets it holds. It is like a beautiful bee from the outside however when you trigger it, it stings hard!

" Alice, would you like to share your thoughts about why Egyptians used to mummify people when they died?"asked Mrs. Michelle. " Please stand in front of the class."

My heart jumped to my throat. Beads of sweat were trickling down my face. 'Class' Oh no! Gradually, I made my way to the front of the class. My hands were trembling madly. I felt like an invisible hand was choking me every step I took. The whole class turned their cruel, amused faces in my direction. My face was draining out of colour, it was probably resembling a ghost. My mouth felt dry as a desert. There I was staring at the class with eyes filled with fear. I couldn't move a muscle, my whole body felt like I was paralysed. I rubbed my eyes to make sure it wasn't a nightmare, it didn't make a difference they were gazing back at me with grimaces. I couldn't take it any longer......
