Chasing With Forever

Chapter 1

Authors note: A picture of Thea's mom up top. Also I just want to say this is my very first book and I am sorry If I mess up on any spelling and that I hope you enjoy.

START OF FLASHBACK:

"Are you excited to see Gran?" mom asked looking down at me as we see the train coming into the station.

"I am so excited I cant wait. Thank you mommy Thank you so so so much for taking me to see her I miss her so much" I said as the train came to a stop.

"Your welcome baby I cant wait to see her too".

She looked back up as the doors open to get onto the train, but before we could enter a man came running out and knocked me over and another man followed him soon after but as soon as I get up one of the men are already holding the gun to mommy's head yelling at her to give him her bag. She does not take a second to even think she just give him the bag and begs for him not to hurt us as tears run down her face. I don't know exactly what is happening but I know I don't like to see mommy cry. So I do what any kid would do, I cry. I see the men getting angry and then I hear the most haunting words of my entire life come out of my mothers mouth.

"Thea baby mommy loves you and I want you to make sure nothing happens to Conner, tell him all about me and how much I love him I will always be in your heart forever".

And with that said not even a second later a piercing gun shot was fired and then I see my mommy drop to the ground, lifeless no longer breathing with her eyes wide open and a single tear drops from her left eye while she is staring at me.

Everything had happen so fast that no one even noticed what was happening until it was to late and she was gone. The next thing I know I am being lifted up and put into to a pair of strong arms and a man and his wife were hold me and shielding me from the scene that was played in front of me and they were whispering nice words and and telling me everything was going to be okay into my ear while the men that had shot my mother started running and were able to get away before the police came.

END OF FLASHBACK:

I woke up screaming and felt a pair of little arms wrapped around me and tears running down my face with me running out of breath at the very realistic memory of my mothers death. I looked down to see my brother Conner holding on to me tight like he was going to loose me because he didn't know how to handle these situations when I would get like this which was very often. I told him it was going to be okay and that I was sorry and that he could go back to sleep and I would be fine.

I look over and see its 4:30 Am and I don't need to be up till another hour and a half and I know that I will not be able to go back to sleep so I go and take a nice hot shower to get ride of all the grogginess from not have a good nights rest in over three days. Last night I went to the tracks and raced one of the locals that I don't know the name of hence we have only been here for Two weeks since my father has last found us. I won $300 because the guy got cocky and doubled the amount because he found out I was a girl and thought that I wouldn't be a "challenge". Haha tell that to the $300 dollars that is currently sitting in my purse ready for me to spend on groceries. That will teach him to not under estimate someone because of their looks. I'm just glad I don't have to worry about feeding Conner this week and I know I wont have to go hungry so he can eat.

I climb out of the shower and get dressed brush my teeth and then I brush my hair and decide to let it air dry. By the time I am dressed and ready to go to that awful place of a school called North side High it is already 5:15 Am. so I decide to go and make Conner some breakfast, his favorite; pancakes, eggs and some toast. I would make bacon as well but we don't have any until I go to the store later today to buy some.

I put on one of my favorite songs, cold by maroon 5 which is a great song by the way which you should check out later and I start making breakfast. 45 minutes has passed by and now it is 6:00 Am and I am done making breakfast so I climb up the stairs into my bedroom where Conner sometimes slips into in the middle of the night when he cant sleep. When I walk in I see him sprawled out on my queen sized bed sleeping peaceful. Man what I would do to just get a Good night rest. I walk over to him and wake him up gently by kissing his forehead and whisper in his ear that I made pancakes. As soon as I stand up from the bed Conner jumps up to hug me and kiss me all over my face and thanking me for making his favorite meal. I just laugh at him and tell him he's welcome. We walk down together and we eat in a peaceful silence, until I ask how his school is coming along. He gives me this look like 'really this early' and I nod and he responds back with a sigh.

"Its fine, its just i'm afraid to make any friends just incase we have have to leave again" he says with a frown.

I look at him with recognition because I am dealing with the same problem.

"I'm sorry Con, I know its hard I wish we could just be safe so we don't have to keep looking over our shoulders all the time" I say and look straight into his eyes so he know i'm being sincere.

"I know Te, and I would do anything to help you if I could and I am so grateful that you got us out of that awful situation and I love you for that. Hey! How about we do a movie night tonight with popcorn and I will even let you pick the movie even tho I already know what movie it will be?" He says smiling one of his perfect smiles.

He knows me so well "Tangled!" I yell.

"Yeah Yeah I already know" he says with a half smile.

" I love you Te".

"I love you to con".
