Tobias
Chapter 15
In the morning, I check Tris's temperature again. 106. I know that this is way too high, even deadly, so I call the hospital. Tris is crying, and I try to calm her. "Tris, I'm going to be here every second. I'll make sure you get better." She nods, but I can tell that she's in a lot if pain.
When the doctors get here, they put Tris onto a stretcher. They run, and I follow them, praying that she will be okay.
When they get to the hospital, the bring her into the emergency room. She is screaming now, and her body is shaking intensely. I want to comfort her, but I can't get in the doctors' way. I sit down, and I start to cry. She's survived a concussion, a shattered arm. She's survived stabs in her shoulder, neck, and ribcage. I hope she can survive this.
Finally they move Tris to a room. At least this means that she's stabilized.
I sit in a chair, watching Tris sleep. A doctor walks up to me, and says,"Hi, I'm Kira. You're Tobias Eaton, Beatrice's husband, right?" I nod. "Is she going to be okay?" Kira has brown hair and freckles, but her expression is full of concern. "We're not sure. She has a severe case of scarlet fever. We got her fever down to 102, but we are not sure if it will stay down."
"Will the babies be okay?" I ask, worried to death about them. If Tris dies, I have no family. Kira nods, and I feel relived. "They are okay, miraculously. We think Beatrice will be fine, but we're not one hundred percent sure yet." I nod, hoping that for once, Tris and I will have good fortune. "Thank you." Kira nods, and leaves the room.
After a few hours, Tris wakes up. The doctors brought her fever down to 100, and said she would be okay. Her whole body is pale, and she's still shaking uncontrollably. She is so strong to survive all of this.
"Tris, how are you?" She looks terrible, but I ask her anyways. "Well, I feel better than this morning. And I'm not dizzy. Are the babies okay?" I nod, while saying,"Yes, they are," I kiss her nose. "And they are fighters, like you." She laughs. "They are fighter, like both of us." We kiss, and I feel blessed that my family is okay.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After a little over a month, Tris is finally treated, and we can go home. She is now six and a half months pregnant, so we have to get ready for the baby. The doctor told us that they would be born at least a month early, if not earlier, because they are developing faster than normal.
Today, the doctors are going to give us a more accurate due date. Tris and I are excited, but we are also nervous. Last check up they said it could be from seven to eight months.
Once Tris and I are ready, we walk out the door. She's ask,"Do you want them to be born sooner or later?" I have to think for a second, but then I say,"Sooner. But I'd rather have later if that meant that would be more healthy." She nods, saying,"Yeah, that's the same with me. I want them in our arms sooner."
We get to the doctors office, and they immediately get us to a room. I help Tris get onto the table, and a doctor walks in. "Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Eaton. I'm Andrew. I'm here to figure your babies' due date."
He hooks Tris up to a machine, and walks over to his laptop to get the ultrasound. After five minutes, he says,"Your baby will probably be born in two to three weeks." Tris's smile stretches from ear to ear, and I know mine does too. Our babies, Alex and Liv, will be in our arms in less than a month.
On our way back, Tris and I talk about how excited we are. Tomorrow, we will go shopping for baby supplies, so we're ready.
We get to out room, and I whisper,"Tris, I love you, and I can't wait to start a family with you." She smiles. "I love you too, Tobias."
Shortly after that, we both fall asleep, ready to start our family.
