"seolhee? is there something wrong?"

woojin's voice snapped me out of my thoughts. his fingers ran through his cherry red hair, "we're going to be late to class.. if we don't hurry up.."

"woojin, where's the courtyard?" i urgently asked him.

he raised an eyebrow, "why do you need to know where the courtyard is...?"

"just tell me," i bit my lip.

the boy let out a sigh. "uhh.... there's three ways to get to the courtyard, but the closest way is to go back to the cafeteria and if you go inside.. you'll find another door across the room which leads to the courtyard..."

"ok thanks. also, don't worry about me and go to class before me, woojin."

before woojin could say anything else, i bolted back to the cafeteria and followed the directions that were given to me.

my eyes examined the whole courtyard as i entered outside. there was a pricey looking fountain in the center adorned with gold and lots of plants surrounding it.

but there was no signs of another person. it was empty.

i stood beside the main building and underneath a window; following the instructions the person gave me.

almost 20 minutes passed by, but there was still no sign of another person.

even though the courtyard was empty, it was a bit too quiet. somehow, it felt like someone was watching me.

my phone vibrated out of nowhere which startled the hell out of me. i checked my phone to find another text.

fool?

i frantically looked around. maybe, there was someone who was watching me from afar and now i felt super conscious.

all of a sudden, i heard something shatter.

"crap," i muttered under my breath as i looked above.

my body quickly cowered at the sound of the window above me shattering into shards of sharp glass.

it was too late to move away.

squeezing my eyes tight, i waited for the shards of glass to scratch and graze against me, but i didn't feel anything painful. instead, i felt someone's arms wrapped around me from behind and covering my head as if they were protecting me.

"are you stupid..?" someone whispered behind me.

cracking one eye open, i slightly turn my head back to see a familiar pink-haired boy.

"daniel?" i opened my other eye while my mouth slightly gaped open in surprise. "out of all the people in this school, i would expect you to be the least likely one to save me."

"shut up..." he was out of breath as he spoke.

"did you perhaps run all the way here to help me?" i asked.
