It's been raining for days now, but its always raining. It's not like I mind. The rain is actually pretty calming, well, at least I think so. My best friend, Medra hates the rain. She says its depressing. But Medra thinks just about everything I like is depressing. I understand though. Im not like most girls, you know, the average boy loving, chat all day, girly girl. Im more of the scary news loving, don't care, tom boy.

But who cares if im a tom boy. You guys would probably much rather hear a story that I certainly found interesting. Let me start from the beginning.

.

I started to walk home as the rain fell on my red cheeks as it was cold and I forgot my umbrella. As I reached the front door to where I live, I open it, coming in and getting the floor wet.

"Mom! Im home!" I shout from across the house.
"Okay dear! Dinners almost ready!" My mother shouted back.
"Where's dad?" I say as I enter the kitchen.
"He's up in his room"

Whenever my dad was in his room at this time, it most likely ment he was watching the news. And seeing how he hasn't come down to help mother with dinner, there must be something interesting on.

"Here. Set the table for me." My mother says, about to hand me the plates when she relized I was dripping wet.

"Oh! What did I tell you about forgetting your umbrella? Go change. I'll set the table."

"Oh..! Yes mother." I had completely forgotten about how cold and wet I was.

I walk upstairs to my room and change into something dry. When im done I hear my phone buzz. I got a message. It's from Medra. Im about to check what she had to say, but I got interrupted by my father telling me to come and eat.

I set my phone down and ran down to the kitchen to where my father had called me.
He sat at the front of the table while my mother sat to the right of him. We had mashed potatoes and meatloaf on our plates.

I sat in the chair next to my mother and started to eat.

"How was school Sophia?" My father said while shoving meatloaf in his mouth.

"Fine as always." I say after I take a drink of water.

"Well thats good. Me and your mother's anniversary is coming up."

"Oh?" I say not really caring.

"We are going to be away for a couple of days. Do you think you can handle that?"

"I think I'll manage father."

"Very well. We're leaving tomorrow, so me and your mother made a chore list for you. Youll have to do those when we're gone." He said handing me a piece of paper.

"Yes father." I said as I thought how much I did not want to do chores.

I finished my dinner and put my dishes in the sink.
After words I ran upstairs and shut the door behind me to my room. I turn my phone on to see 21 new messages.

"Holy crap! Why is she texting me so much?" I say out loud and check to see what she was spamming.

Im reading her messages that all basically say the same things. CHECK THE NEWS! and OMG! Over and over again. I replied with "Ok, Ok, hold on. Whats so important about the news anyways?"
"Just check the dang news!!!" She said back.

I put my phone down on the bed and turned the news on. Its some crime scene in an allyway. Someone was murdered. I read what the victims name was as flashbacks came to my head. It was Vince, my ex boyfriend.

Panic filled my body and the meatloaf I ate wasn't sitting properly in my stomach. I was gonna puke. I stood up to go to the toilet so I wouldn't throw up on my floor but my legs stopped working. I fell to the ground with a loud thump. I heard someone run up the stairs and knock on my door.
