"I told you it would be a good one!" I jog through the crowd of late-night moviegoers to where my parents stand, smiling.
"Yes, I s'pose it wasn't too bad," Dad teases. "Thoughts, Esther?"
Mum sighs and takes a hold of his hand. "It wasn't that good. I mean, the main guy was such a spunk! They definitely should have got together in the end." Dad and I steal a glance at each other and roll our eyes.
"Yeah, but that's such a cliché." I scuff the torn up pavement with my shoe as I follow my parents out. "Don't you think it's about time we're able to go see a movie and not predict the ending?"
"I guess I can't argue with that."
We continue down the dark street, now only a block or two from home. The crisp autumn air blows across my neck and sends shivers down my spine. Looking up to the sky, I notice more stars than usual.
"It's a new moon tonight," I say. Dad looks up and squeezes my shoulder.
"Well, here's to a new beginning with my two favourite girls. Whatever that may be."
I smile.
Then, my perfect night
all
falls
apart.
Dad pushes me to the ground.
My head aches from the fall and the scene in front of me blurs.
Mum screams.
There is a hooded figure, all in black.
I hear my name.
I call out theirs.
There are six sickening thuds.
I see the glint of a knife.
So much blood.
Silence.
I drift into nothingness.
QOTU: What do you think of the plot? :D
