Rowan's P.O.V
College. A step into my unknown future. I check in at reception, anticipation building inside of me as I'm about to find out the person I'm going to be sharing a dorm with for the next few years of my life.
"Rowan...Partridge? Or Rowan Blanchard?" The receptionist asks looking down at her computer with not even a glance at me.
"Partridge, like the one in a pear tree? I love that song; probably since it reminds me of Christ-" I ramble on before being cut off by the receptionist.
"Lovely dear but I asked for your name not the backstory of your life." She replies, looking me up and down.
"Oh right, sorry. It's actually Blanchard by the way I just ramble when I'm nervous." I apologize.
"Good for you." She rudely says. "Room 104, up a floor, turn right and head forward till you see it."
"Thank you!" I exclaim "Any chance of knowing who my room-mate is?" I ask.
"Of course I do. But I'm paid to tell you where to go not to tell you room-mate. Find out when you get there." She says.
I blink flabbergasted. I love that word! But I always thought receptionists were supposed to be nice and friendly? Yet, I take the hint and quietly shuffle away.
"Go upstairs, turn rig- or was it left? Oh shoot." I say to myself. "It was right wasn't it? No, I'm sure it was le-" I pause as, without warning, I bump into someone and I see myself head straight for the ground.
"I'm so sorry! Well done Dylan. First day and you've already sent a pretty girl flying to the ground." a muscular voice claims.
I blink continuously and a boy, who I'm assuming is called Dylan, is staring right at me and I feel myself blush profusionally.
"It's fine- it was my fault, I'm just a big clutz!" I apologize.
"Well you're a pretty clutz." He says smiling at me.
I nervously giggle and he asks,
"So where are you heading?" He asks.
"R-room 104" I stutter. I'm still in shock he hasn't turned and ran away to be honest.
"Cool! Well it's right behind you! I'm room 105 so hopefully I'll be seeing you soon!" He says.
" Oh! Cool." I say trying to come of chill and nonchalant but inside I'm screaming so loud I'm surprised The floors above me hasn't told me to be quiet.
"Well I better get back to my dorm before my room-mate completely destroys our room. It was nice meeting you though!" He finishes before walking into his room.
I collapse against the wall and sink to the floor. He was so cute and nice and cool a- oh gosh I'm rambling again. I get up before someone comes along and starts taking photos of me lying against a wall. I turn around. Room 104. The words sound like a continuous loop in my head. Because I know that this moment is going to affect my whole college career. I put my room key in the door, twist it and open it. I walk inside and-
