* prologue *

Aaliyah's pov-

I stare at all of my friends confused, and lost. They all look so serious it's something I personally aren't used to.

"Aaliyah.." Aaron got up, resting one hand on my shoulder squeezing it tightly.

"I need to know.. I'm so confused I-I- I don't understand any of this..please" tears running down my face each one containing more emotion than the other. Christa softly pats my back trying to calm me down. I look at Eliana she looks as confused and filled with emotion as I am.

I guess I'm not the only one who didn't understand anything about this whole situation.

"Aaliyah we told you everything we could... " The lights started to flicker cutting off Christa's sentence the room became pitch black I started to shake grabbing the closest person to me crying into their shoulder. "shhh... it's okay we've got you.. covered.." Christa's sweet voice whispered into my ear hugging me tightly, seconds passed and we sat in the room my sweat palms unable to grip onto my seat.

a high pitched scream rang through the room Eliana .

I ran towards the horrific sound "ELIANA!! ELIANA?!! WHERE ARE YOU??" I dashed towards the light switch before feeling a hand grab my waist and the other covers my mouth dragging me towards the red exit sign. I close my eyes.

what do I do? You're scared, weak, and confused, you can't do anything. my conscious answers back.

no . no . no . no . no .

I lifted my leg kicking whoever was behind me as they slip to the ground I kick the body one more hearing it whimper. The lights flicker on I look around to see my friends on their feet running around searching for Eliana and I. "guys.." I felt a lump in my throat and warm tears rushing down my eyes. Finally feeling their eyes on me worried, guilty, and sorry all of those emotions plastered on their faces. Moving towards me noticing the body still on the floor breathing heavily holding his stomach in pain his face covered in the mask. Aaron knelt down moving his hands towards the mask lifting it up out of the bodies face.

A shocked look clear on Aaron's face I shift myself a bit for a better view, recognizing the body on the floor. I stood there frozen not knowing what to do gripping my fists tightly. what . the . hell.
