Alden's research was ticking the Neverseen off so they stole Fitz as a baby and gave him to a human family. Fitz grew up in the human world with his best friend Cara, who also has happens to be best friends with Amy Foster, who still keeps in touch with her big sis, Sophie. Neither Cara nor Fitz believe Amy when she talks about elves or Sophie, but after Cara is kidnapped by the Neverseen and Sophie comes to the rescue, Fitz believes it all. Now, in the Lost Cities, Fitz missed Cara and tries to adjust to Elvin life. Luckily, Sophie has been through this before and helps him out to get his feet in the ground in his new world with promises that the Black Swan will do all they can to save Cara. Fitz wants to know who his biological parents are badly, and everyone secretly suspects he's the missing Vacker. He gets upset at Sophie not wanting him on dangerous missions, that Sophie won't make an effort to find out who her own biological parents are, and that she's just accepting that the black swan won't tell her.
Sophie wants to tutor him so he can go to Foxfire's elite levels one day if he wants, but also so in a couple years so he can get a job he likes.
Fitz has a SLIGHT romantic inclination towards Sophie at the present.
