I hate change

+Alyssa's POV+

"Alyssa!!" My mom screams for me from downstairs. "You're going to be late, if you don't leave NOW!"

I roll my eyes. "Okay Mom! I'll be right there, thanks!" I say in the sweetest voice I can manage.

I take one last look in the mirror, and check to make sure my black hair is going to stay straight, instead of curl, like it always does. I notice the light bags under my blue eyes. I had woken up a lot the previous night, due to the usual nightmares. But this time, there was something worse about them.

After I finish looking at the mirror, I grab my bag and head for the stairs to get to school.

"Alyssa. You have got to start getting up earlier. I'm afraid you're going to be late one of these days, and ruin your perfect reputation. I can't have that. You have to be perfect." My mom goes off yet again.

So to anyone else this may seem rude. To me this is normal. My mom is the mayor, and she thinks I have to be perfect, because I'm her daughter.

"Okay Mom. Drive safely getting to work. Have a good day!" I say in my angel voice just for mom.

"Okay, be home at 4 today, we have people coming over for dinner. They are new in town, and as the mayor I am to make them feel welcomed."

Ugh. I hate new people. They're always weird and they make you wonder if they're hiding something behind their curtains over their windows.

I actually just hate change in general.

I don't respond, afraid I may something my mom wouldn't like. So instead I grab my phone from the counter, and my keys to my car, and step outside ready to get to school.

As soon as I get to school, I see someone has parked in my parking spot. It kind of actually makes me mad. I hate change. I always park in this spot every day.

Now I have to find a spot by the stupid sophomores in their lot. Seniors and sophomores don't even breathe the same air. I mean, why do sophomores even have cars. They're like 12. Okay 15, but you get the point.

I finally find a parking spot, and park my car.

After I turn off the engine, I grab my bag, and head inside. I may not like the fact that my mother tries to make me perfect, but I will never be late, because if I am it goes on record, and if it goes on record, my mom will see it. And things may not be pretty. She'd probably bribe the principle to take it off the record, yell at me for hours, ground me, and then never talk about it again. She did that in middle school.

I haven't been late since then.

Once I'm inside, I go to my locker to put my bag away, and get my books. After getting my books, I shut my locker, and without looking I turn around, and try to make my way down the hallway. I say try, because I ended up running into a wall. I thought I was going to die (okay maybe I'm just a little dramatic), but right before I hit the ground, two arm wrapped around me, and grabbed me. The owner of the arms pulls me upright, and steadies me. I still haven't looked to see who caught me, slightly embarrassed I needed someone to catch me.

Instead, I grab my books and then I turn around, and try to thank the person that saved my life. (Again maybe a little dramatic)

But there was no one there. Whoever it was, had already walked off.

Well that's weird.

Great my Knight in Shining Armor doesn't even have a face. That I could see anyway.
