Powerful [COMPLETED]

Prologue

Hey guys! This a 15,000 word short story/novella that I wrote for Camp NaNoWriMo July 2016. I have edited it kind of, in the way that I've cleared away typos and awkward sentences. However, I still need to go over it again, the first time was to make it more readable. The prologue is kind of short but the chapters afterwards are longer. There are only eight chapters after this but I'd say they're very long.

Anyway, enough rambling.

Prologue

Everyone looks forward to their thirteenth birthday. Whether it's because you become a teenager or because you get cake and presents, there is one present that is the most special of all.

In Oswald City, where I live, on your thirteenth birthday, you get a magic ability in the form of an Orb. There are seven different powers and it all depends on the colour of your Orb.

For example; purple is teleportation, blue is for flying and red is for super strength.

There are some rumours that people can steal your powers but that is all talk. Besides, everyone in Oswald City has a power.

There are many myths on how we get our powers and why we get them in the first place. All we know is that you get your Orb in a box; it just appears at the end of your bed. We also know that the reason we get Orbs is due to the fact that Oswald the Orb God gives them to us.

Why? Who knows?

Anyway, that's a story for another day.
