Allyson's vision was fading, but she could still see. And she did not like what she saw. It was huge! Bigger than any werewolf she'd ever seen, possibly the size of a hellhound. It looked like a tiger, but was nearly the size of a bus. They had giant teeth that curved and they were longer than the sword Allyson was carrying. She then noticed something behind the unnaturally large cat's head. Nicholas wasn't even touched by the cat, though he was near her.
Completely uncalled for, pain burst through her skull. Allyson tried to scream, but couldn't. Stars danced across her vision and when the cat roared, it seemed like there was crackling, like bad T.V. reception.
" Now, now, now. You wouldn't happen to be the Alpha of your Pride?" The voice was giving Allyson a headache, trying to listen too it's pointless babble and comprehend, but Allyson urged herself regardless.
The monster roared louder.
" I'll take that as a yes, no?"
There was a crash. Bricks breaking.
" I know who's controlling your Pride!" The voice made a final plea.
" What make you think we'd trust you after what you did to us last time, huh?" A different voice asked that question, it was low and dangerous and had an undertone of wildness that even Allyson in full strength would hesitate to touch.
" Trust? Who said anything of trust?" The voice was annoying Allyson when it was compared to the low dangerousness of the former voice. This voice was wimpy and pathetic, like it was trying to sound that way.
" What about her?" The husky voice asked.
" Her? No need to worry about her, she's practically dead anyway," The wimpy voice dismissed her.
" Don't think I'll be fooled! I've heard stories, more than you. She's more like us than like a dirty thief such as you!"
" What are you implying?" The wimpy voice was hesitant.
" We could use her, of course. She was trained by one of my brothers, though I'm not sure she knew what he was," The voice sounded triumph.
" Use her?" The words were merely a squeak.
The low voice just laughed, " I will free my brothers and sisters this way!"
" Is that really smart, she is a huntress!" The voice was pleading.
" She's a new Soul Huntress, no one will miss her. Especially with her killing everyone she knows and such. That rage of hers, damn," Allyson felt pride at the comment and also worry. Killing everyone? What rage?
" She might hear you!" The wimpy voice didn't sound pathetic at all when it hissed.
" So what? She killed the only vampire/werewolf hybrid of her father and attacked a pack of hellhounds. She killed four of them, you know. And don't act as if you're not using her too! Besides, she not simply a human, she's a weapon."
Allyson felt people carrying her and she felt herself falling into the horrifyingly blissful inkiness of being unconscious.
SORRY FOR THE REALLY SHORT UPLOAD! But, I REALLY wanted to stop here because it's a lot to swallow. Besides, chapter one of Fire and Ice is longer, you can read that. :D But, don't be too discouraged, I might even upload chapter ten today! ;P It depends on my mood and on how many votes and comments this gets. (I'll do anything for fans.)
