Mr Ambrose POV (surprrrrise...;))

As I stepped down from my coach with Karim standing onl my toe I took a glance at the building infront of me indicating the power and wealth I have earned. Which reminded me of the amount of gold I had discovered and the money I made from it in the last few days. This trip proved to be more successful than I had expected.

Was it really because of the all the gold you found made this trip so sucessful or was it because of the events that took place in thouse jungles. That annoying voice in my brain spoke.

No it was just because of the money and the gold nothing else. I said shutting that voice.

'Sahib'. Karim's voice broke the chain of my thoughts.

I just turned towards him signaling him to continue.

'Sahib I got annews from our informer that Lord Dalgliesh is upto something big this time against you. What would you like me to do in that matter'.

This good for nothing man is again plotting against me.He never learns his lesson. Does he?

Well I should have seen this coming because after the attack on me on that day at the port which I ofcourse survived and now that I'm back with so much of money how can he just sit quite and not do something.

'Keep an eye on him and inform me if things get clearer'.

'Yes sahib'.

With that I dismissed him for the day and made my way towards my office. As soon as I entered the building a sudden silence settled inside the building and all the chatters stopped. It was graveyard silence and just the way I preferred. Seeing this a muscle in my face twitched.Without paying a second glance to any of them I straightway went to my cabin.

At exactly 8:50 I heard a knock from Mr Linton asking permission to enter.

'Come in'. I said giving the permission and expecting  him to boast about being early on work but to my astonishment nothing of that sort happened.

Something is wrong.

'Good morning Sir. Is there anything you want me to do before I check on the mails'.he asked.

'Yes I need you to write a dictation.'

After listening to me he pulled out a pen and a notebook from his tailcoat's pocket and got ready for the dictation.

'Before we start can you tell me what time is it apparently my watch is not working properly'. I said just to test my theory of something being wrong.

'Its 8:51 in the morning sir. Should we start the dictation Sir'.

See I was right. Something is definitely wrong.

It is not her usual behaviour to be so obedient without any side remarks and not even taking the credit for being before time and not saying anything about my comment on my watch not working properly. All of this just proves my doubts right. There is  something not right with her errr.. I mean him.

Was it because of what happened in those jungles between us is the reason of her such behaviour? Was she really behaving differently because of that? But then she would have done the same when we returned from the trip from deserts which she didn't. So why now?
