We finally arrive at my aunt's house. I climb out of the car and run to the door.
J: "Hiii Auntie K! I missed you soooo much!" I hug her tight.
K: "Awwe, I missed you too Janney!"
M: "She perfers to be called Jay now, Kanya. It's crazy." She laughs.
I go unpack everything from the trunk of the car. I take my luggage to my room! Yes my room. I walk in and reminisce my old memories: jumping on my canopy bed, hiding in my loft. There's been a few changes like Auntie K installed a flatscreen TV in my room. Okay Auntie K, I see you!
I go grab a quick shower after such a long car ride. I change into another pair of crop top and joggers. I grab a poptart and put in the toaster for breakfast, even though it's like 1:00. I brush my teeth, then go to my room to unpack. I smile. Auntie K still has the white dresser, which I decorated with pony stickers when I was 5. I unpack everything.
K: "Jay! Would you come in my room for a second?" she yells.
I walk to her room, which has not changed at all.
J: "I'm here."
K: "I want to invite you to game night with my friend and her family. Do you want to come?"
J: "Yeah, sure. What kind of games are we playing?"
K: "Board games and video games. I'm hoping you could teach her kids how to play the video games."
Auntie K's right! I've been a gamer since 8 years old.
J: "Yeah, I'll go. What time does it start?"
K: "It starts around 5, so get ready at about 4."
A FEW HOURS LATER
It's 4:38 so I go get ready for the game night. I put on my striped crop top, overalls and Adidas sneakers.
It's finally 4:50 so we drive to the house. This house seems vaguely familiar to me for some odd reason. Auntie K knocks on the door, and a woman answers. You will never believe who the woman was! IT WAS MOMMA MOY! MY AUNT IS FRIENDS WITH THE MOY FAMILY!
I try not to freak out.
J: "Hi, my name is Janney but you can call me Jay." I smile politely.
??: "My name is Natalia Moy. Nice to meet you, Jay."
J: "Nice to meet you too, Mrs. Moy."
N: "You can just call me Natalia." She laughs.
I walk in and I see all the moy boys sitting at the coffee table.
N: "You can go sit down next to Oliver." She points to a boy in a white t-shirt with a tiny panda on the corner.
I nod and go sit next to Oliver.
O: "Hi! My name is Oliver. What's yours?"
I know your name is Oliver!
J: "My name is Janney but you can call me Jay." I say trying not to freak.
My phone lights up and Oliver happens to glance at my phone.
O: "Is that me as your lockscreen?"
I freeze. I've been caught.
J: "Why yes. Yes it is."
O: "Awe I think that's cute." He smiles.
I smile back.
5 MINUTES LATER
The first game comes out and it's Monopoly. I choose my go-to character which is the top hat. Oliver also reaches for it. Our hands touch for a second. He takes his hand back.
"I win!" I say in a childish voice.
He laughs.
30 MINUTES LATER
J: "I beat you, Oliver! Next game please." I say with a smile.
Oliver chooses the next game from a hat.
"The next game is Friday the 13th. Does anyone know how to play this?"
I raise my hand quickly. "Me! I do!"
Oliver hands me an Xbox controller.
Alex: "Choose your opponent."
J: "I choose Oliver." I smile mischievously.
I get to be Jason first. Oliver runs off.
J: "Oliver....where are you?" I say creepily.
I found him, hiding behind a bush. A bush.
J: "Oliver. I am disappointed in your hiding skills."
Oliver's Jason now.
O: "Janney Janney, where are you?" He says copying my voice.
I'm hiding under the bed. I will be so disappointed in him if he doesn't find me.
A few minutes later, someone kills Oliver. I laugh like crazy.
O: "That's not funny!" He makes a pouty face.
J: "You sure?" I'm still laughing.
O: "Where were you anyway?"
J: "Under the bed! How do you not check under the bed? That's the first place a murderer looks!"
A FEW HOURS LATER FROM BEATING OLIVER
K: "It's getting late. Jay do you wanna sleep over here?"
J: "Yeah, sure Auntie K."
K: "Bye. See you tomorrow!"
N: "I could give you some of my pjs."
O: "No, mom. It's fine."
I walk into Oliver's room.
J: "Do have any shorts I could sleep in?"
O: "Yes, I do!" He gives me a pair of Calvin Klein boxers.
I take it and go change in the bathroom. I go back into Oliver's room and he sets up a place for me to sleep. Oliver looks up at me and blushes.
O: "You look cute in those." He smiles.
I blush.
It's getting late so I go to sleep in Oliver's room.
"Goodnight Oliver."
"Goodnight Jay."
