It was just another day in this sad excuse of a school when the speakers went off along with an exciting announcement.
"Dear Students and Teachers, the Chairman and The Board Of Directors have decided to take the children of grade 12 on an educational trip to Georgia. All the children will be handed out forms to be filled with all the essential details and is to be handed back to the class teacher by April 16 2017."
This was the first time I ever liked this school and this announcement was like music to my ears, can this really be happening? As break time came I ran to meet Elena and fan girl over the exciting news.
"Seriously! Can you believe it! We are going to Georgia! Like freaking Georgia!" Elena said in excitement.
"I think... I think I am beginning to like this school" I said faking a shocked expression filled with sarcasm.
A few friends and I were in the cafeteria talking about what we are going to take to Georgia and what we are going to do there and basically mapping down our whole lives in Georgia. I couldn't wait to go home and tell my parents.
When my dad came to pick me up the trip was usually more awkward then normal so I switched on the radio to reduce the quietness. As soon we reached home I rushed inside to get changed and tell everyone the exciting news.
"So guess what? The school organised an educational trip to Georgia and also they gave a form for you guys to fill out." I said in utter happiness.
"No" my mom said not even acknowledging the situation.
"What? Seriously, why?" I said while anger filled up my system.
"Because you're small girl and you are not going anywhere without you're parents." my mom said in a calm expression.
"I am not a little girl! I am freaking 17! Why do you always have to find ways to ruin my happiness!" I said furiously.
"It's not safe! Who knows what can happen! No is a no! Now finish you food fast and don't talk" she said further ignoring the situation.
Anger boiled up inside me and I pushed aside the plate, storming off to my room shouting "Next time don't expect me to tell you anything! I hate you!"
I locked my doors and stayed there the whole day ignoring all the "She's just being protective of you" and "She's you're mother, she just wants you to be safe". I know I am going to sound like a spoiled brat but she's got to stop with this, she is ruining my life. The more I am growing up the more chances she is finding to screw with my life.
It was the weekend and I basically had my food delivered to my room by my dad telling me to talk it out with her. So that you get a basic idea talking to her is like talking to a wall, no answer whatsoever.
It has been over a day I have been hibernating in my room ignoring the outside life and actually studying or watching YouTube. Then there was a knock in my door and like always I responded with a "Go away, you know she will never change her mind, she's stubborn!" When I turned I was surprised to see my mom looking at me with a surprised look because I was studying for once.
"I know what I did was wrong but you have to understand, I am worried something will happen to you" she said calmly.
"I know you are worried but you have to understand you will not always get to protect me from the world, you have to trust me enough to know that I can keep myself safe," I said hoping it will trigger her answer to a "Yes".
"OK fine I will let you go only if you promise to call me everyday and never and I mean ever go anywhere without a teacher or go out during the night time alone." she said smiling.
"I promise, so can I go?" I asked with a pleading tome
"Yes"
"THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!" I screamed in happiness and gave her a tight hug.
As soon as she left the room I immediately called up Elena and said " Are you ready for our trip to heaven?" with a huge grin plastered on my face.
