"Ugh, school!", I groan and complain to my best friend Kade

"You say that every day, you know that right Xay?" Kade asked with mild amusement in his tone.

"Just take me home!" I complain loudly stretching out the last word.

"Nah, I'd rather watch you suffer, Bye Xay I'll see you third period." Kade says as he walks off to his first period class with me blushing at the nickname he gave me.

Oh man that boy was something else, I'm surprised that we're even friends as I'm the boy that most people know by name and that's it. That's really only because of Kade to be honest. But we've know each other since I moved here in second grade and I punched him in the face for saying I looked like a girl and we've been inseparable since.

I walk into my first period class where I see my only other two friends sitting and waiting for me, one is Melanie and the other my "brother" Grant. I say it like that because I was adopted by his family when I was six and homeschooled until I was seven, but most people don't know about my family situation only Grant, not even Kade and I tell him everything!

"Hey Xay," Melanie says to me we met during one of Kade's basketball games that he always wants me to go to and she and I just clicked.

"Why do you all insist on calling me that?" I grumble I only let Grant do it and that's because he's my brother but then everyone started doing it. I say everyone loosely because people only know me because of Kade and rarely associate with me unless I'm with him. Dang I sound like a loser who needs Kade to have a life, which isn't totally untrue but I have Grant and Melanie there for me.

"So what made you show up a little later today, you're usually here before all of us Xay." Grant asked, me slightly blushing and the nickname. It was so embarrassing!

"Kade and I had a discussion about why he should take me home before class starts G." I say in a duh tone he grimaced at the nickname. He hated it as much as I hated Being called Xay.

"I have football practice after school." He said, "Can you see if you can get a ride home with Kade today?"

"Oooooooh, alone time with your man." Melanie said winking at me, I just glared at her.

"He's not even my 'man' why do you keep on saying it like we're a thing, he's just my best friend jeez!" I say throwing my hands up in exasperation, these people and there weird fantasies about me and Kade there's nothing going on between us!

"Is there something you'd like to share with the class, Mr.Kellens?" Our teacher, Mrs.Humphrey, asked me. I hadn't even noticed her walk in, damn ninja lady.

"No ma'am it's nothing at all." I said in fake innocence when I was really thinking of how many ways I could kill Melanie without leaving a trace, suffocating her in her locker sounded pretty good.

"Alright." Was all Mrs.Humphrey said before going on with her lesson. Gah! I hate math.

"I'm going to suffocate you in your locker, Melanie." I grumbled

"What was that Xay?" She asked.

"Nothing and to answer your question I can get a ride with Kade, he'd never turn me down besides if he did I go anyway." I said chucking.

"Good, I don't want to worry about taking your butt home then driving to my house." Grant sighed, nobody knew that we were adopted brothers because I'd always go to Melanie's or Kade's never to our house.

The bell rang and before I knew it it was time for third period a class that all seniors had to take, parenting.

I sighed as I walked in taking a seat next to Kade that he'd saved for me. Good boy Kade he's learned not to get on my bad side yay.

"Why'd you just talk like I was a dog?" Kade asked snapping me out of my thoughts.

"I'm sorry what?"

"You said something about good boy Kade and not getting on your bad side." He shuddered at that last part. I mentally face palmed, I hadn't meant to say that out loud!

"Did not, besides you're my bitch so it doesn't matter that I treated you like a dog." I said childishly, crossing my arms and turning away from him as our teacher Mr.Kipler walked in

"Alright class since it is parenting you will all be put into groups to act as couples together." He said, I mentally counted the kids in the class and there was more boys than girls so there'd be one couple of two guys thank goodness that wouldn't ever happen to me.

"As you have noticed there are more boys than girls in this class, therefore there will be a group of two boys together." Mr.Kipler said

"Why can't we have a group of three?" I asked jokingly earning som laughs from the class including Kade who was struggling to hold his in.

"Because that would be unethical Mr.Kellens." He explained, "Now line up and I'll assign you to your groups."

We all lined up I stood next to Kade as he started calling off names, I began to get nervous as Kade and I hadn't been called and there was a shortage of girls beginning.

"Since you thought that little outburst was so funny, you and Mr.Astricus will be in a group together." Mr.Kipler said, I held back a scream Mr.Kipler had an amused look on his face and Kade just seemed indifferent to all of what happened. The class on the other hand decide to share their thoughts by laughing and yelling out things.

"I knew it was going to happen one day!" A girl squealed

"Dang I feel bad for Kade getting paired up with that kid." Some guys whispered thinking they were slick.

I just blushed out of embarrassment as sat down with Kade at a table in the back.

Well, that just happened.
