Summer's Pov
Hi I'm Summer Hathaway. A normal girl I guess. Who has 6 best friends who I love with all my heart. I have a boyfriend named Asher. So life is ok right now. Both my parents are home. My mom is a fashion designer. While my father is a Lawyer. They're both always on the go but they always come back and that's what matters. Anyways it's Monday which means School which means friends which means band. Oh yea the band. I'll explain later. Anyways I rise from the dead and get ready for school. We used to have a uniform but not anymore. Because Tomika pranked principal Mullins with Lawrence's voice machine into no more uniforms. She's lucky that she didn't get expelled.

I head downstairs to see my mom and dad eating breakfast.
S- Hey guys
Both- Hey Sum
SM- Wanna eat
S- Nah I'm good
SM- Come on Sum. You have to ear breakfast
S- But I hate breakfast. How about I make you a deal?
SM- Go on
S- I won't eat it today but tomorrow I'll wake up early and we could make breakfast together and eat as a family.
SM- I like that idea very much. Also your friends will be here any minute
S- Thanks mom
Then the doorbell rings. I hug them both and head out the door. To see my best friends. Tomika,Zack,Freddy,and Lawrence. I know I said 6 but these are my friends since Preschool we always meet up before school at my house. Because it's the closest.
S- Hey guys
All- Hey Sum
T- Ok so before we got here we were debating
S- About
T- If we want to do a movie night or go to the mall and the boys say movie night. I say mall. So it's down to you.
F- Come on we went to the mall last time and the time before.
S- Sorry Bubbles but I'm with the guys on this one and we know the only reason you want to go to the mall is for funnel cake.
T- Well it's not my fault that they only sell funnel cake at the mall. Come in people it's powdered sugar and fried cake.
Z- Yea one of the most unhealthiest foods in the world.
T- Well Zachary I for one. Love unhealthy food and you will never stop me.
L- But how do you never get fat.
T- That's one of the mysteries of the world.
S- Or you just work out enough and you have a fast metabolism.
T- That too.
We finally reach the school and head inside. We say bye to the boys and head to our lockers. I put my stuff inside and then I feel hands go over my eyes.
A- Guess who. It's someone fantastic
S- Tomika
T- Im not that tall
A- A guy you love.

A- What no
A- Someone that you see almost every day
S- Thomas Sanders on Vine. On YouTube.
T- It's Asher
S- I knew that.
He takes his hands off my face and kisses my cheek.
T- Ugh romance. It makes me sick.
A- Bye Sum see ya at lunch
S- Bye Ash.
He leaves and Tomika looks at me in disgust.
S- What
T- Pet names
S- You guys call me Sum and You also call him Ash.
T- I know it just makes me sick when you say it.
S- You are unbelievable
T- But you love me
S- How can I not
I wrap my arm around her shoulder and we walk to class. Once we get there we see the boys playing swatter. Again. Tomika gets her phone and hits each of them.
Z- You finally downloaded the app
T- What no. I just take my chances.
They groan and go to their seats.
S- Want me to get the ice packs
Guys- That would be great Sum
I giggle and get up and head to the nurse. I grab the ice packs and on the way back. I see Kale kissing Asher. Did I see that correctly? Yep it's Asher. I drop the ice packs and they both look at me.
A- Summer it's not what it looks like
S- So you aren't cheating on me with my best friend.
K- Wait what. This Asher is your boyfriend. You lied to me.
A- Listen I can explain.
S- Kale tell me later. I can't deal with this right now.
She nods and I walk away with tears running down my face. I let my hair fall in front of my face. I walk back to the classroom and go inside. I go straight to my desk and put my head on the desk.
T- So how'd it go with the ice packs
S- Not good
T- Ok then. Are you guys still in pain?
They all groan.
T- Well then you should stop playing that stupid game.
I feel more tears run down my face. I put my head up and look at the board with my hand holding my head.
MF- You ok Summer
S- No
MF- Wanna head to the bathroom
S- No
MF- Nurse?
S- No
T- She clearly wants to stay and not explain.
I feel something come over me. I'm not sad and I shouldn't be. I'm mad. My first boyfriend cheated on me. With my best friend of all people. I slam my hands on the desk and stand up. I run out the room. I head to Asher's classroom.
TA- Summer Hathaway what are you doing here. You aren't in my class.
I grab Asher's collar and pull him out the room.
A- Hey
S- Why did you do it?
A- You want the truth?
S- More than anything
A- For popularity. My brother is a 12th grader.
He said if I got two girls to fall for me. That he would make me popular and since the eclipse. I felt that you liked me so I took my chance.
After I hear him say that. I grab his collar and slam him against the locker. I feel something in me that I've never felt before. It was a like a fire. Hot and wanting to be released.
A- What is wrong with you. Your eyes are Red.
After he tells me that. I drop him and just stand there. What is wrong with me? I head back to the classroom. They all look at me and I just sit down. Again with my head on the desk.
T- You good Sum?
S- Something's wrong with me and I don't know what.
T- Well we'll help you find it. But first we need to rehearse.
MF- I have a surprise for you Summer
S- Hit me
MF- You are going to sing
S- I'm tone deaf
MF- Well not anymore. Haven't you noticed yourself singing perfectly to the songs.
S- Again I'm tone deaf. So no.
MF- Just trust me and if you do go back to sounding like something dieing. Tomika will shut you up.
S- Wow thanks Mr.Finn
MF- Your we-
T- She was being sarcastic
MF- Oh
Then the bell rings. I swear lunch gets earlier and earlier each day. We head out and head to lunch. We sit at our table. Then Kale and Esme come over and sit with us.
E&K- Hey guys
All- Hey
K- I'm sorry Sum. I didn't know
S- It's fine. He told me the truth anyways
K- I know he's a jerk. I'm done with dating. The first guy wasn't honest and just wasn't perfect for me.
F- Uh Im right here
K- That was kinda the point. But you were better than Asher.
Z- Wait Asher as in Summer's boyfriend
S- You take that back right now Zachary. That jerk is not my boyfriend.
T- Wait did we miss something
S&K- Asher cheated on her.
E- Your joking
S- Nope
T- You fine Sum
S- Nope
They all look at me with sympathy. I just smile at them. I'm glad I have friends like them. But the moments ruined when Asher and his friends come up.
A- Well if it isn't devil girl
S- Huh
T- Listen Asher. Stay away.
A- Don't worry. I learned my little lesson
T- Sum what's he talking about
S- I don't know
A- Yea you do. You dragged me out of my classroom and slammed me against a locker. Along with almost chocking me.
They all look at me with their mouths open. I just sit there. With my head down.
T- You did that.
A- Yea she did. I think she's part devil. Her eyes were blood red.
T- From crying
A- No her eye color was blood red.
I feel that fire from before ignite in the pit of my stomach. I stand up and death stare Asher down. I win battles. I don't lose them.
Z- Asher might die
T- Why's that Zachary
Z- Stop calling me that and plus no one can stand the wrath of Summer's death stare. It's scary.
Asher starts giving up. I stare down at him harder. I feel that fire grow. Then I feel someone touch me. I turn around and see Kale touching my shoulder. She quickly pulls her hand away once she sees my face.
K- Summer why are your eyes red?
A- I told you. She's a demon.
I grab my tray of food and face Asher. I dump it on him and then walk away. The fire dies down. I don't know what that feeling is but I want to find out.
